I just started working at a GM dealer, so I decided that I would like to run my VIN to see all the info about recalls performed on my car, where it was originally sold, RPO codes, etc.

So anyway, I learned some interesting stuff today. One of my RPO codes is "OAR - Identification Pre-Production". I find this interesting also because my car was "in-service" with 0 miles on it and has a production date of 6/09/08. (My car is a SS/TC sedan, so it's a 2009.) It also shows that the PDI was completed with 10 miles on the car by "General Motors Company - 7111 E 11 Mile Rd, Warren MI" on 6/13/08.

The next warranty claim is at 138 miles for a TPMS issue and was performed by "GM Service Operations - 30501 Van Dyke, Warren MI".

Then there is nothing on record after that until 16,287 miles. Carfax shows the car has duplicate titles at one point, was sold at "auction", and 2 previous owners. However, there has only been one owner according to the dealer I bought it from and registration records only indicate one owner as well.

So let me ask you guys this -- is there anyone else out there with a 2009 SS/TC Sedan made before 6/2008? Anyone else have the OAR RPO code? I feel like I might have one of the earlier made 2009 SS/TC Sedans?

 

I have an 09 sstc sedan. Since you work for the dealer, why don't you run my VIN and tell me all about mah cah!

 

You've probably got either a pre-production or prototype tc sedan.

You got plum hell lucky tho, they didn't make mine until 2009 and it's a 2009 model!!!

I feel for you tho, I bought mine "brand new" as a 2009 model with 90 miles... Damn communists...

 

It was probably just an executive car. Even if it is a super low production number car (something like 97000010 or lower) its not anything special in the big scheme of things. But if youre a car geek then yeah, it would seem cool.

 

So my car could have theorhetically been driven "like a boss" by the boss.

IamBroke had one of these before he sold it. Mine is a May '08 car, but I don't think it's pre-production.
