Off the line

any one else hate racing automatics off the line. A v8 dakota tried racing me then cut me off the first 100 feet. I only did about a 1800 launch still spun to much sand on the road, he just gripped and got me. I just think if youre gunna race dont half ass it. I had to back off before i ran out in first gear he was already taking my line.

If you were on sand it sounds like he had AWD or something which was his advantage.

Launching with Autos in so much more fun then with a manual.....One of the great automotive thrills for me is to activate the trans brake on my stang, floor it, let go of the button and literally take off!.....well about 6 inches on the front at least

My only complaint with our cars in that the Launch Control is not very practical since it revs up way to high to get any meaningful traction. I would suggest you roll into the throttle while in the low RPM's of 1st gear rather then punch it. One you start moving 15+ mph, then punch it and you should be ok (Assuming your car is at stock power levels). That should help with the initial wheelspin.

i know what youre talking about with launching autos i had an explorer with 4.11s 3000 launch it would hook and screw. im going to try the best launch considering its getting warmer and my tires grip soooo much better thanks for the advice and i am stock ive always wondered i have trouble at these power levels what happens when i tune.
