My car is the same way ..... But I don't have a sunroof so I think that helps the squeek and noise situation.

I believe the sedans handle a bit better but the coupes accelerate faster after 100.

Uhm.. What?

If anything, it would be the coupe with the high rise that would accelerate slower after 100, IMO.

wingless coupe has the best drag coef. But thats such a marginal change, its not really something that should even be quantified, so idk why that poster brought it up

I looked for a sedan when I was hunting for an SS. I was looking in the beginning of '09. By about June, I gave up and bought a coupe. Still wish I had a sedan, though, and so do my friends.

No RPD in sedans? No thanks. My previous car I did 3 gauges(oil/volt/boost) was happy, but when useing the RPD on my new cobalt its pure bliss. EVERY gauge an average driver could need and more.

Plus when people are looking in my car I can tell they are curious because it doesn't look like a gps or sat radio.

Sorry to all you non RPD'ers. You don't know what you're missing.

Yeah I hear you on that one... But I think the Interceptors are a good trade off for having 4 doors and cheaper insurance!

Engine Vaccum.

What I wish the sedan had that the coupes do is the lumbar adjustment. Same seats - what the hell ?

Other than that - no complaints. Unless the window motors go south, 'cuz then I have 2 more to deal w/.

You make some good points TorqueSSter. I forgot that it doesn't show vacuum. And windows motors are quite costly, I know cause i got a quote for 400$ CAD to fix 1 on my 02 sunfire.

And the diff in driving between the two will be very minimal. Which is a good selling point for the sedan.

Interceptor completely fixes and by passes that no RPD problem, lol. I get to look at more parameters than you guys with the RPD could ever possibly imagine

Not to mention, they dont make a dual gauge setup for someone with an RPD.

I didn't say this pulling it out of my ass. There is proof.

Coupe

Sedan

Now I can't find anywhere that states which skid pad size is the tougher one so I might be wrong on the handling part, but my guess would be the 300ft one cause you are going a lot faster on it.

your provided links say the exact opposite of what you are saying. the sedan supposedly tops out 10mph higher than the coupe (though they are honestly going to top about the same, give or take a couple mph)

Yes sedan tops out higher but the coupe gets there quicker, by 2 sec to 130. Of course, you can also remove the wall of a spoiler and it will top out like the sedan if not higher.

ya there are way too many variables ... not every test drive of a car is the same... just because you are comparing the numbers car and driver supplied doesn't mean it was done with the same driver on the same day in the same weather... the difference between the sedan and coupe in performance would be almost unmeasurable. 50 lbs won't make that much of a difference... and there is no way a sedan is aerodynamically different enough to beat the coupes top end by .. 10mph. these numbers are fudged by the editors as bad as they are by those salesmen who don't even take the time to read the sales brochure and sell these things claiming they are still supercharged LOL

Looking at those numbers ..... the Coupe is 40 LBS lighter than the sedan ..... but when you add in the downforce from the coupes park bench at high speed (23lbs @70mph and 115lbs @155 ) the coupe actually starts to weigh more on top end then the sedan lol.

Another thing you have to consider is the sedan came a bit after the coupe .... and the article dates show that .... the coupe looks like it was tested in july .... so summer weather VS November for the sedan . We all know how much better these cars run when the weather starts to cool off, it's a big difference.

I know I shouldn't even bother trying to explain how or why the tests are different because there are just too many things that could be different and people are going to see the numbers they want to see no matter if there is a reason behind them or not ....... but I really don't think there is much of a difference between them no matter what a magazine says. lol

Absolutely +1 to both posts.

The thing is, if you have to explain variables to someone, then you're 100% right rukkee. People are only going to see what they want to see.
