PICS TWM Short Throw installed

Finally got her put in. It's WAY different as it's definately shorter. The shifter is a bit stiffer which I like and the gears are so close I KNOW I'm gonna go from 2nd to 5th at the strip a time or two. LOL There are ZERO problems going into 5th and the reverse lockout works perfect as well. Some people seemed to have some probs with this with other brands. Enough talk here are a couple pics.

Gutted out the stocker:

Black weighted knob and requested shift pattern added:

Yes it's tight but not annoyingly so. It feels really nice and firm.

So when you were installing it, did it look like it was pulling more on the cables like Maven was suggesting?

Not really...I did not take the stocked out but I helped during the install and it went in really easy and it all shifts nicely.

I like the one I got but still dont like that brushed gunmetal look of the reverse lockout.....I'm debating what to do with that.

That is my second option right now...I'm thinking to go gloss black.....will get so oily and dirty being touched all the time.

Looks good. My only problem is that the finish on that knob looks like the kind that is gunna show fingerprints/skin oils very easily, which I can't stand.

I wish I could get a STS, but when my shift knob popped off my dealership decided to make it so it will never pop off again. The chance of me pulling it off is not good.

just as a caution, since the shifter is a good amount shorter, on the passenger side of the shifter where the reverse lock out piece is, it actually wore a hole into the leather. It took me 3 months to find it as the leather was "layed over" so it couldn't be seen.

wow, i didnt know alot of guys were goin to shorter throw shifter. it seems pretty short to begin with. i would think itd just open up more room for mistakes. maybe ill have to try it out.

i liked my hurst in my 02 ws6 but the stock throw was terrible. i kinda like the stock SS Cobalts throw tho. especially the new ss/tc its nice, tight and precise

Looks good. I'm glad you went for TWM. You have the shiny black and I have the flat black knob. Did you get the aluminum bushings as well?

I'd like a little shorter throw, but don't want to deal with a shorter lever. Hopefully someone will produce something like the Mopar STS in my SRT4. The throw is drastically shorter, but it was all accomplished on the bottom of the fulcrum.

I would align the knob better or have the installer do it right!

I enjoy mine but I think the biggest improvement was from replacing the bushings, not really the shifter itself.

I do have the issues getting into 5th sometimes, but it just means I cannot make a quick shift to 5th as previously, and I rarely I'm doing something that requires a fast shift to 5th. I was more worried abou the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts, which are vastly improved w/ the TWM shifter

Been several days now and done some hard shifting and it's still working great. Getting used to how it shifts now pretty easy. Highly recommend this guys.
