plasti dip help

Hello, i have a black 2008 cobalt ss. i decided to plasti dip my stock rims white. WHICH LOOKED GREAT!!! however as you would expect brake dust and other road stuff quickly made them look terrible. I was wondering if a clear coat over it would wash off easier? Or if anyone has a special technique (brand of soap, brush, ect). Thanks for the help all.

A plastidip clear coat would help. Some wheel cleaner a light tire brush and pressure wash should clean them well for the time being just done be too.aggressive

from my experience white plastidip is super hard to keep clean, even more so than white paint. The plastidip does not form as smooth of a surface as paint does, which leads to small nooks and crannies for brake dust to get into and become a bitch to get clean. If there is enough brake dust you let collect, you cant get it clean no matter what. My suggestion would be to paint over the plastidip, so you can still peel it off if you want, and then throw down a bunch of clear coat. This will make the surface more smooth anda bit easier to clean. I also always used Armour all wheel protectant which helps cut down on brake dust a lot. I loved the white wheels on my black car, but just became too much of a pain so i switched back to flat black

that might yield the best results... but... if hes anything like he and gets bored of wheel color every couple of months then plastidip is your friend.
