pontiac GXP vs. Cobalt SS/TC--questions
well last weekend i was at the street races but actually its more of a car show then anything. i was there parked with a couple buddies on mine. we were sitting there and just shooting the ****,waiting for hondas to get done racing,a couple faster cars out of the say 50-75 cars that were there,quiet a few fast cars but lots of hondas and just dumb cars to even race lol
so as im sitting there talking with a couple V8 guys and my buddy who has a fully built evo,this guy is sitting kind of by me and my friends...hes standing next to his GXP, and starts calling people out,hey ill rape your evo,man,lets go and while hes starting to call people out im just thinking to myself, WTF???this guy must be special or something. hes been down to the races a few times and never said a word to him cause he looks like a douche bag (he had white sunglasses=DBAG) but after hes done calling people out he was like whos ****** cobalt is this?? and yes he was talking about mine, and i wasnt standing by my car but i faintly herd his ask whos cobalt this was and i was like mine,why whats it to you? he said lets go,lets run! i think to myself it would be fun to put this guy to shame but i dont race at the races,cops are always stopping by and kicking us out of spot so,i tell the guy,no,lets go run on the highway and then he was like no,lets run here,right now,so i was like **** that,im not doing it,i have a brain.
my buddies mom had one,she ran it at the track,it was bone stock, and she ran 14's with it.
so pretty much long story short! GUY IN GXP WAS TALKING ****,CALLED ME OUT AT THE RACES,I SAID NO LETS GO ON THE HIGHWAY AND HE BACKED OUT AND CALLED MY CAR SLOW. ARE GXP'S ANYTHING SPECIAL? I KNOW THEY ARE V8'S BUT NEVER HERD ANYTHING CRAZY ABOUT THEM BEING FAST. GUY WAS A DBAG.

was just wondering. maybe if i see this fool on the highway i will have to give him a run.
i dont usually race but when a dbag in a stock car is running his mouth,it drives me nuts.

grand prix gxps are pretty slow, heavy, their aftermarket is awful, and they take to mods poorly. Won't be a challenge. You could probably beat a bolted, cammed, and tuned one with a tune only TC.

lol ok well good to know. i will have to keep an eye out this weekend to see if hes around lol
maybe hes just a cocky douche bag who dont have a clue. he went on and on about what he would waste off the line from a dig. it just drove me nuts hearing him rant about how fast his car was lol and from what a couple buddies have told me,his car is stock,maybe some exhaust work, but thats it

Why would anyone say a 5.3L doesn't respond well to mods?? No offence but that's a pretty bold and stupid claim. A 5.3 with heads, cams, tb, headers, and a tune in a grand prix would smoke a stock turbo SS on a highway. That would net you at least 420-450whp. Now add some spray and your looking at 550whp for a couple grand. If it's a chevy V8 it can be made to go real fast, real cheap. If he was bone stock and you were bone stock he would still take you. The grand prix gxp does a 0-60 in about 5 flat with a good driver and they don't stop pulling. My cousin use to have one and it was quite the rocket on the highway.
