Power By Trifecta

Vince and I have been working on my tune for almost a month now. Because of the alltitude of which I live at (over 5,000 feet.) He's had to make some special adjustments. The end result? Was also about 100f outside.

Did I mention that Vince is the Man?

I drove his car a couple of days ago, but don't know what changes he made since, he's been working on the tune for a couple of weeks now, when I drove it, it felt smooth and no lag at all, it was sitting at 24 psi I believe

I think it's holding at a solid 24lbs when I'm in full boost. It's fully stock besides the Trifecta. I have the muffler cut off but that won't give me any power gains. I've got the tune where it's in comp mode only which is very nice. But again, special adjustments for the high alltitude.

Nal drove the car when it was only holding at about 20lbs.

TONS of wheel spin at the track now. My crappy driving skills + Trifecta = burnt tires. I was either spinning out or bogging down the poor car. Only ran a 14.322 at 102mph. I need better tires, and for Vince to come out with an adjustable launch control. My driving SUCKS on launches >.>

24psi? So does your tune have the "Infiniboost" feature?

Great numbers by the way, I bet that mid-range torque is fun.

It definately is not a regular tune if it is running 24 psi. I wonder if the sniffer is working on tht dyno. the A/F was in the 14s and 13s most of the pull. The peak numbers are good but the powerband is horrible that and the fact that the HP peaks at 4.5-5K means the turbo is way out of its efficency range.

I have pretty much the same tune. It is the new Trifecta selectable tune. Holding about 26lbs of boost spiking at 28lbs, because of our elevation. The SCT I had before this, it would spike to 26lbs and hold around 24lbs.

You need a tune with a decent powerband. With those peak numbers with a decent powerband you should be trapping 109-110 even at your altitude spinning as this car adjusts the boost according to air density in order to make its target airloads.

Don't our cars make max power at 4700 stock as is? This run was done in 3rd gear. I'm unsure if the car is adjusting boost any more as Vince has done a lot of bypassing to get Cavaliers and mine to run more boost. When Cavaleir and I first ordered the tunes our cars were only holding at 18psi. Which is a bit unfair if everyone elses tunes were holding at 22psi. Vince Did a lot of work essentially maxing out the turbo to get us into the higher boost numbers.

I think, with maybe a better driver or much better tires my trap speed will be as you say. At this point it's really all on the driver. It'l just take a bit more practice on my part to get the launches down.

Yes, I beleive our cars are running the Infiniboost feature, but I'd have to ask Vince just to make sure.

Where does Vince live?

That is some power at that altitude.
Gona embarrass the n/a guys.

In the Camaro, I managed a 13.3 quarter cam only in Colorado. Where the stockers run mid/high 14's!!!!
Got tore up by a bolton/tuned Evo

Vince lives in Washington. But His tunes can be done anywhere in the country. He just sends you a handheld tuner and you follow the VERY easy instructions he gives you.

Or do what I'm going to do Sunday. I'm going to drive to a Trifecta Independant Dealer and have it done right there. Plus it's a little cheaper going to a dealer compared to having it mailed to you. You save a little on the tune, you don't have to pay freight, and you don't have the $200 hold on your credit card.
