Resolution to squeaky sunroofs!!!
Okay, well I've had my TC now for about 3 months.
As time has passed, the sunroof has gotten continually worse as far as creaks go.
After some investigation I've come to the realization that it was from the rubber seal on the sunroof and where it meets the roof of the car. I realized this because every time I put up the sunroof the creaks went away and every time I put it down they came back! The only way I could truly enjoy driving the car was with the sunroof slider closed (I didn't want to do this on sunny day, not should you have to!).
I the pushed on the sunroof slightly when the car was parked and heard the same creaking noises that I heard when I was driving!
My resolutions tried and follows (this is only for sunroof rubber creaks (which seem to be the majority of problems - not wind noise)):
1. I waxed (with car wax) the inner portion of the paint with the sunroof open figuring the rubber rubbing against the paint (which is the core of where the noise was coming from) was still too rough. I applied wax and closed the sunroof, it was even worse!
2. This one worked. I then sprayed WD-40 on a paper towel and applied it around the rubber sealing of the sunroof and BAM! No more creaky rubber to paint rubbing! This will last you about 3 weeks or until the wd-40 dries again.
My next resolution was to apply clear grease along the inside of the sunroof frame (not on the rubber). This will not only keep the sunroof properly moistured and prevent dry rotting and cracking, but is a long term solution to the creaking since it seems to come back with the wd-40 since it dries out pretty quickly.
Let me know if you have any questions, comment or concerns! Hope this helps!

I did something similar with silicon emulstion to stop a squeak and air leak at highway speeds. Needless to say for the last week or so it's been much more quiet, now I just need to figure out why the visor is vibrating when it's cold.

Trust me, I did too! that's why I tried whatever I could do to fix this problem!
Something like this one:
http://www.buyhardwaresupplies.com/?...Number=8138307
or you can try this one: http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/...ctId=100597281
seems interesting and I think I may pick this up next!

I have been meaning to get to this for a while but hadn't really put any thought into how to do it. I was thinking of putting like thin rubber door seels in there but grease is waaaay easier now that you mentioned it! Thanks a ton!!!

WD-40 is not supposed to harm rubber but I know from personal use that it does break it down.
Silicone grease or spray is what should be used to lube weatherstripping on doors, sunroofs etc.

What color is the silicone grease are you using? And, what areas are you applying this onto...just the backside of the sunroof rubber? Do you know if there is any way to adjust the sunroof...seems like mine sits a little higher on the drivers side.

yea alot of the sun roofs sit high on one side. you can try to adjust it but it rarly works. theres three torx screws on the inside hold the glass to the slider, you just loosen them and push down on the roof will its closed and when it looks good tighten them again. i have been using the silacone(sp?) spray and it works great you need to wash the rubber with some soap and water then apply it. that shold hold for a month or so.

There's a GM grease designed for this application.
I used 303 Aerospace Protectant on the sunroof seal. I was surprised to see only 1 seal between the glass and the metal roof.

I'd say this could go a couple months. Nothing too big of a deal as it beats have a creaky as sunroof that you're embarrassed to drive around with!

with the grease I'd say until it dries up. To put it in relation, the WD40 spray crap lasted 2 weeks before creeking again.

If you spray however, spray the wd40 or whatever you use into a paper towel or towel and then wipe around the rubber. You don't want to hose the inside of your car with oil since the sunroof needs to be open to do this!
DO NOT spray or lube the sunroof when it's closed - defeats the purpose!
