Rockstar wheels on a SS/TC

I just ordered a set of KMC Rockstar's for my wifes SS, they don't even make this wheel in a 5x110 but when I called about them the guy said they had some blanks that werent drilled yet and could custom make a set for me. I won't get them until mid june. The only problem is they are 18x8 with a 42mm offset, he guarantees they will work or I can return them. What do ya'll think? My tires are 235/40/zr18

I think theyll look good, im no rim expert though

EXsoccer1921 05-16-2010 04:06 PM

i think it'll be a little less, or flush, with the fender. so it'll look perfect

Ricer 05-16-2010 04:30 PM

oooo.. i like.. what color is the car?

Victory red w/dark tinted windows

bigrroberto 05-16-2010 05:42 PM

I think they'll probably look good. I've only ever seen them on trucks so I can't say for sure.

Midwest Ecotecs 05-16-2010 09:02 PM

be sure to post some pics when u get them on!

jsscooby 05-16-2010 09:03 PM

very curious what they would look like on the car too.

Schneids 05-16-2010 09:04 PM

those rims are worth buying!

gwatson650 05-16-2010 09:06 PM

definitely a fan of these wheels.
i have a set of 22" on my suburban.

greenbusa 06-12-2010 11:55 PM

blackbolt89 06-12-2010 11:57 PM

i like em

DangerZone 06-13-2010 12:09 AM

how heavy are they??

arman14 06-13-2010 12:10 AM

I really like them.:twothumbs

greenbusa 06-13-2010 12:25 AM

to each his own I guess, but I like them. They are not the same as the xd series for the trucks, thinner spokes, smaller center, and the spokes are flat and flush to the outside instead of inset, and nobody else will have them on a Cobalt SS, I hate lookin like everybody else.

greenbusa 06-13-2010 12:51 AM

Hey Guys, can you tell by the pics if this car has been lowered or is it stock ride height?

blackbolt89 06-13-2010 10:19 AM

i already told you to drop it in a post so i would say it still looks stock height.

is it lowered?

OBZ 06-13-2010 10:37 AM

There is a guy locally here that has them on his blue SS. They look pretty good. He did just as you did, had them custom drilled

Foximus 06-13-2010 10:41 AM

How heavy? Man. I actually REALLY like those.... Woner if i could get tehm smaller ina 4x100....

CaseySS87 06-13-2010 10:52 AM

Forget the haters dude they are pretty sweet.

Zdeuce4 06-13-2010 11:25 AM

they dont look too bad imo.. i think on a yellow, white or silver balt they may stand out a bit more tho. looks good to me.

I didn't think it had been lowered but yesterday another guy in a cobalt ss stopped and talked to me and his was 2-3 inches taller

aweSOMeBalt 06-13-2010 12:35 PM

Looks good

EcoTecDriver 06-13-2010 12:43 PM

I think the stock wheels were better.

Phyrric 06-13-2010 12:48 PM

I call dibs on the TC rims

SS-Performance-RS 06-13-2010 05:55 PM

Stock wheels FTW! Just dont have a taste for black rims on anything other then white or black cars.

Blown07SS 06-13-2010 05:59 PM

I like the tc factory better.

Again TC WHEELS FTW!

NWAE Cobalt 06-13-2010 06:09 PM

looks ok...although honestly...they look like black painted ss/sc wheels just a little jazzed up...

jsscooby 06-13-2010 06:24 PM

I saw those rims sitting on display at my tire shop and I looked at them and thought about this thread. I at the time didn't think they looked too hot, but seeing them on changed my mind.

Thanks scooby, and everybody else who liked them, I like everyones opinions, even the people who don't like them, at least your honest. Everybody has different likes but this is my wifes car and she likes them and that's what matters, you know what they say, if mama ain't happy then no ones happy, haha

murphxrockstar 06-14-2010 11:56 AM

curious, about how much did they cost you? I have a red cobalt too, and I think they look sick.
