Scythe_Snake goes to Michigan to see ZZP! (Turbo Upgrade Build)
I copied and pasted this from another forum I posted this on :
Well ladies and gentlemen, this morning I got up at 5am for a very "important" and exciting appointment at 9pm in Wyoming/Grand Rapids, Michigan. I had to get up earlier because its a 2 hour 50 minute drive and I lose an hour as well.
Basically, I'm upgrading my turbo! The stock k04 is a great turbo, puts down good usable street power and torque, but it dies up top as a small turbo usually does. So, I decided it was time to go bigger. =)
Took me forever to find this place but here it is, ZZ Performance:
I walk in, and am greeted. They were expecting me and I arrive relatively on time!
So we walk around back and they show me some of their own cars that they have as their own personal cars:
Here is Ryan's Big Turbo LSJ (Supercharged engine converted to turbo). He is running good track times!:
Here is what I saw when I pulled up around back:
But now they start by getting a baseline dyno for my baby. The build begins!:
Video and Dynosheet (Mustang Dyno btw):
(296 whp and 318 wtq) on a conservative switchable trifecta tune and bolt ons (intake, IC, IC piping, catless 3" turbo back exhaust, bypass valve spring and 20 psi tune) On a dynojet this would put down roughly 340whp and 370ishwtq
In case any of you are wondering what that **** is on the windsplitter/lip.....on the way there a lady in an Buick Enclaive ran over something and before I knew it a ******* long road killed deer was sitting in front of me. So with no time to react I try to swerve out of the way, but end up hitting it. I freaked out and pulled over to see what it was. Lucky for me no body damage, and SADLY Matt @ ZZP had to scrub it from the exhaust cave and brake lines and the like. Big thanks for that bro, I still feel bad:
PS Michigan has a ton of ******* road kill. I counted over 15 dead opossums, 3 deer, and like 7+ raccoons. I will be more careful on the way back.
But as of now as I relax in the Super 8 motel, here is how the baby sits:
More to come when they take pics as well as more tomorrow! I'm super excited!

Grand Rapids, correct? Look around on our local sport compact forum, some good reads on here if you have nothing better to do. Might recognize some of the cars you have seen, unless they are beat to hell ricers hah.
