Should I buy this 09 SS
Should I buy this 09 SS
Hey guys I made a previous thread about another cobalt ss but I found this other one. It's at a local dealer and I'm gonna test drive it tomorrow . It's an 09 SS with 16k and their asking $16000. Is this a good deal due to the low miles or is still a bit to much. I know to never pay asking price so what do you guys think I can get the car down too. I do plain on financing it with either a 4 year or 5 loan. is that a good idea, meaning are these decently reliable? Thanks!! Here is the link

Does the dealer have any pics of it ?

i would KBB it and see what they say you should pay for it.
-this way you can take the KBB with you and basically say look and haggle that way.
welcome to css by the way. I see your somewhat local in Toms River, i used to have a house down in Lavalette

You guys are straight up a bunch of cheap asses. 16k miles for $16k. That's what I paid for mine. Car was beyond flawless, one owner, never seen salt, factory tires, still had the dealer purchase paper, and **** ton more.
I've seen some around here with 60k miles sell for 17k.

Same here. I paid $16.6k for mine with 15k miles last year at a dealer and the car was like new.
I wouldn't say a lot of them. In fact that would be inaccurate. I would say more like SOME of them. Don't forger it affected late 08's to early 09's. Really when it comes down to it there are far more that don't have porous blocks then ones that do.
I wouldn't jump on it right away unless you absolutely have to have THAT car. Manual transmission cars tend to sit on dealer lots for a while because only a small population of people want them, so after a few weeks they will start dropping the price drastically to move it.
I watched my G5GT on craigslist for weeks. Every week the dealer would drop the price $1,000. It started at $11,000 and when it got to $8,000 I went to look at it. When I got there there was a clearance tag in the window for $7,000 because it was on the loit for over 60 days. 5 speed and no sunroof made it undesirable to everyone but me.

There was sales tax and licence fees of $1619.00 on top of that. It had been on the lot
for six months. They were happy to see it go. The car was perfect, except for grooves
in the rear rotors. (Fixed under warranty) I paid cash.
3000gt 1994 price in negotiable.
It's the non turbo model with a 3.0 V6 DOHC but it's got FWD and either a 5 speed or auto.
After I posted it refreshed and showed it's a 5 speed and apears to be well taken care of. Still personally wouldn't ever get one that is a non VR-4.

Haggle on the KBB value. They probably got the car through a trade and gave the previous owner $10k and are selling it for $6000 over what they "paid" for it. I worked at a dealership for a few weeks to learn the B.S. car salesmen use. Totally offer 14k and ask them to throw in new tires. Dealerships don't want inventory sitting on the lot too long especially on trades. Salesman may not make as much money on the deal but you should get a better deal.
