Like I said..I've quite seen a few posts on other boards that have DI cars using meth and Meth does not really make a difference with valve deposits.. Sure..go use it for what it does do well, but it's not going to significantly reduce valve deposits on DI motors.

i was just thinking, what if someone used fuel injector cleaner or something of that nature? i dont mean like putting through your fuel system as obviously it wont touch your intake valves, but what if you put it through your intake mani via a vacuum tube? then it would hit your intake valves...

just a thought. it seems like itd be safe since seafoam does the same thing.

also like Dart SI said, you can do that but id use top engine cleaner. its a can you can buy from gm i think about $10 and its some really good stuff! if you have no meth id reccommend cleaning the injectors and valvtrain every 8k miles, at least thats what i do

I usually let the car warm up for about 2 mins and then drive without hitting boost til the motor is up to temp. Im almost at 30k miles and the inside of my piping is bone dry which makes me think the valves are in a similar condition

what kind of gas are you running? Also the winter blend sucks ass as well. I would love to hear from people that only drive their cars in the summer, and if they have this issue.

Suddenly Seafaom does not seem like "snakeoil" any more.

Ok..I see you have a catch can there....was that on the whole time with and without meth ?
You need to RULE OUT the catch can here, in order to attribute any improvements to meth only.

Got this off Audi forum..they have DI and valve deposit problems:

-Try to minimize short driving cycles as much as possible, especially during the winter. Cold weather climates will increase the problem if you do not allow the engine to get up to full operating temperature and burn off excess fuel that has been deposited in the oil during cold start enrichment. (it takes about 20 minutes of driving to do this)
Cold weather may exacerbate the problem.. however a hot climate doesn't prevent this from occouring.

I've personally removed a dozen intake manifolds on DI engines and checked the valves on each one. After about 30k miles the top of the valves look like they're growing mushrooms. I've seen a max of about 1/4" of sludge buildup. Usually helped by spraying it down with throttle cleaner and using a screwdriver to scrape off what I can.

I've also had to remove heads and service the valvetrain for this issue but that's only happened once or twice.

yes the catch can was on but its the meth that has helped keep valves clean. as for the catch can the intake piping is very clean after installing it vs without one. without the catch can i had a bit of sludge build up in the intake pipe by the turbo after just 7k miles. then i put the catch can on and checked it again at 21k miles and nothing at all! clean as a whistle

That's good to know! Did you actually see anything trapped in the can?
Oh...please vote on my *Catch Can Poll* if you haven't already done so
