SS-specific diamond-mesh grille?

Ok, so reading up on the new LNF SS turbo, and they state that the 2008 version of the SS exterior is getting updated as follows: "The new fascia’s grille and the Cobalt’s upper grille sport a new, SS-specific diamond-mesh appearance". Now judging from the SEMA pics and official GM released photos, the grille seen in those pics looks identical to the standard issue grille for every Cobalt from 2005-2007, and definitely does not resemble anything close to "diamond-mesh" (which I am assuming resembles the same cross mesh as seen on up-level Avalanches and Silverados).

Needless to say, I've been very anxious to see this "new" grille and aren't the fondest of sharing the same plain grille as base model 'Balts (no offense), nor have I been keen on the billet grille trend. Has anybody seen this new SS grille per chance?

Has anyone gotten their hands on the part numbers for these two pieces? I've seen other LNF specific part numbers floating around (IE: Engine, Brembos, etc). I'd guess that there would be two separate part numbers for each the lower and upper grille.

I might have to stop by my local dealer and ask for those part numbers...

I searched the forums for about 20 minutes before I made that post looking for the part numbers - thinking that someone did post them already. I'm looking to see the difference in part numbers from the SS/SC numbers to the new SS/TC numbers...

I agree, it's all a matter of one's preference - I personally plan to color match mine - as well as the rear mesh grilles in the rear bumper valance. I've always had a preference for monotone appearances...

Rukkee - I searched your posts, and you just mention the price - not the actual part numbers. I'd appreciate the hook up. TIA!

if/when i buy a TC, i'd probably trade those to someone that had a sport... unless they looked better in person than in that photo.

Thanks for the part numbers! You're right - they are the new pn's because the old are:

Cobalt SS Radiator Grille Upper 15276343
Cobalt SS Radiator Grille Lower 15773841

The old numbers are still available items - not superceded yet.

The new grills at gmpartsdirect are:

GM PART # 25820008
CATEGORY: Radiator Grille
PACK QTY: 1
CORE CHARGE: $0.00
GM LIST: $133.53
OUR PRICE: $81.93

GM PART # 25820009
CATEGORY: Frt or Rr Bumpers, Covers
PACK QTY: 1
CORE CHARGE: $0.00
GM LIST: $60.00
OUR PRICE: $36.82

I think I'll pick them up. Does anyone else have a cheaper source?

If you can get the diamond SS/TC grilles you'll be the first one. GM hasn't released them for individual sale yet. GM probably wants to start selling the SS/TC before making these parts available over-the-counter -- to keep look-alikes from showing up -- if you want a diamond grille you'll have to buy a TC. To the guy that says he'll swap out his TC grille -- give me a PM as soon as you're ready
