WOW. I don't know if this guy is a member here or not, or if this has been posted, but... if I got a brand new car and it sounded like this I would be PISSED. Sounds like massive lifter tick...

Here's a driving video of the same car, if anyone is interested.

That tick is direct injection, which to me sounds sweet. IMO

Oh, ok. That is the injection that sounds like that?? That makes sense, but I don't think it sounds bad ass, thats for sure.

Why is direct injection so loud?

Kinda like a diesel except less pressure, that is the cam driven pump you are hearing to be precise, just a side effect. some manufacturers put sound material over the pump so you can't hear it

I dislike that sound also. Even if its supposed to sound like that it still sounds like something is wrong with it. It does sound like the wheel spinning ^^

^^lol.

It just doesn't sound healthy, even if its supposed to sound that way. When you are chilling at a stop light people are going to thing you have a spun bearing or something....

The audio track seemed to be picking up one sound over all the other sounds.

The ms3's are loud too. I think the camera was just picking up the sound to much. face to face it probably doesn't sound that bad.

I apologize for posting something that has already been posted, but looks like I'm not the only one that hasn't seen it yet.

Its just new to me is all.

So why is direct injection better than port injection? I guess I don't understand the differences, maybe just better for the way turbo's work?

Well it is 25 percent more efficient at start up with less emissions, and is more efficient all around and basically is going to be used in most new engines and works well with turbos

Oh I see. So its probably the injection that also has to do with the slightly better highway MPG as well.
