Ss/tc ftw

We can't tell you what it's like to drive the Cobalt SS Turbo at 11/10ths. Fortunately, the latest issue of Car and Driver includes a massive comparison test called the Lightning Lap in which 22 cars ranging in price from the $22,995 Cobalt SS to the $282,306 Ferrari 430 Scuderia are raced around Virginia International Raceway. The list of cars slower than the Cobalt SS around VIR tells the whole story:

Mitsubishi Lancer EVO MR
Lexus IS-F
Audi S5
Honda S2000 CR
Dodge Challenger SRT-8
Lotus Elise SC
Subaru Impreza WRX STI
Dodge Caliber SRT-4
Volkswagen R32
Honda Civic Mugen Si

some quick cars we beat. ss/tc suspension is full of win and its power to weight ratio is pretty good too.

Well this car is awesome, when compared to my Speed 3, stock fir stock the SS is way better. Handles great, braking is superb, and the kick lasts longer. I mean I would know when to shift on WOT pulls on the speed because I would feel the power loss up top, and with the cobalt I often hit the limiter on WOT pulls cuz this thing doesn't stop pulling.

YEA! wtf GM? Why did they decide to build a sports car and then put the "lag-iest" gauges ever known in there?

It's stupid when sometimes you slow down fast for a light and look down and the speedo still hasnt gotten to 0 haha

Do what I did to fix the problem. Get the aeroforce interceptor gauge and set up the annunciator for above a certain rpm of your choice I chose 5900rpm since I assume I will be shifting by 6000rpm

SS/TC ARE full of win... it amazes me what these cars are doing throughout our comunity. Too bad they are gone after this year, but i think they will continue to be suprising people in the far future to come. By then... most of us will have the ZZP or other big turbo kits and really be smashing some number, lap times, and roaring down the strip. All the while... getting like 30+ MPG .. lol. Who needs a trailer??

The first season I believe they have a Ford Focus RS, (Turbo I4 FWD with LSD) anyways Jeremy does a real world driving test with it and doesn't seem that impressed. Ends up driving a WRX back. Of course this is a ford but the way he describes how it handles sounds pretty familiar to me. I'd love for them to take a 2008+ Cobalt SS for a spin, but he seems a little AWD biased in the review.

anyways heres a link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ljcq-5RiR78, skip to about 4 minutes in to get to the real world test
