SS/TC Injector Cleaner

What would be a recommned injector cleaner for the turbo SS? Would direct injection require anything special or would any injector clean suffice?

Thanks in advance

I would just use Chevron Techron. Its one of, if not the best, injector cleaner. The fact that the LNF is direct injected doesn't make too much difference, the same principle.

Seafoam. Half can in the gas tank, half can sucked into a vacuum fitting on the intake manifold when warm. Let it sit 10 mins and then run it until it clears out.
You need to put it in through the intake mani as DI doesn't have fuel passing through the intake valves, nothing to clean them.

I think you missed the idea there...since no fuel is passing through the intake valves, there is no chance for carbon to accumulate, which means there is no need to clean the backsides of the valves.

Seafoam is good stuff, but you shouldn't need to use it to clean the intake valves. If you put it through the brake booster line, it will still clean the combustion chambers though.

What about all the PCV & breather blowby? Ever look inside the intake tube ahead of the turbo? Oil accumulates in there getting sucked into the intake on the valves. Deposits FTL. I didn't miss your point at all, you missed mine.

I think you might be the one misinformed here.....just because there is no fuel going past the valves does not mean there is no carbon buildup. There most certainly is. There is also the PCV valve which does pickup a little oil spray that will cause buildup.

Have you ever taken a throttle body off a car that was gunked up? There was no fuel going thru that was there? Hell even my intake tubing on some cars accumulated some buildup after time.....but no fuel going thru that either....

Don not run any cleaners though ur injectors or engine especialy sea foam. You WILL damage the pintle on the DI Injectors. GM has gone though this many times saying to not use cleaners in them

This is not some old ass engine design. Don't run cleaner through it. If you're to the point where you need to run cleaner, then something else is horribly wrong.

The LNF 2.0L DI engine. Cleaners will damage the Injectors.

That is what im thinking pay close attention to you PCV system. or look for a internal oil leak on ur turbo.

ALSO PLEASE NOTE if u are in worry of voiding warrenty SEA FOAMING will void warranty on ur engine. and there is many ways to prove the useage of seafoam so be cautious.

Even the Chevron Techron stuff? This is the exact suff that GM relabels and sells for 3 times as much...

I don't see any reason why you couldn't run this with DI...thoughts?

Exclamation Well, it's not injector cleaner, but ...

See Post # 14

I may be wrong, but I thought this was one of the resident engineers on the board, and I have done this twice to my car.

FWIW.

So all in all whats the proper procedure. At 7K miles I put a lucas cleaner through the tank and didn't have any issues. Not sure if it was premature but our cars do put out some carbon considering the small spot it has made on my driveway during every morning start.
