Stage 2 Forgotten?

Has anyone heard anything about GM Stage 2 for the LNF? It seemed like GMTS was saying it would be out shortly but that was 6 or more months ago. I haven't heard anything on it since and after searching today still haven't seen anything about it.

Have they forgotten about the LNF stage 2?

There is most likely not going to be a stage 2. This has been discussed at length before. The cobalt, hhr, solstice/ sky LNF's are no longer in production. They aren't going to make parts for vehicles they are no longer making.

The proposed "Stage 2" for the TC was a revised intake. Funding and/or engineering issues arose and they've pretty much left it to the aftermarket. Apparently.

actually no. stage 2 was a lot more than that. it wouldn't pass CAFE standards. so the idea was scraped. a couple of the cars still lived.

Why not just let everyone purchase an aftermarket intake and basically void the drivetrain warranty, instead?

Would you care to indulge me on this one??

at GMtunersource the intake was going ot be included in the stage1 kit, but then was said to be the stage2.

I have read nothing about not passing CAFE (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) standards...

...................

Frankly I would not be too surprised if this brand spanky new K&N CAI became the stage2...

One thing I found interesting is that after cars are reflashed with the stage1, their paper work apparently says "stage 1 & stage 2"....

It's a related question.

IIRC the Stage 1 kit is ~$500

Comes with some sensors and a tune(reflash of the PCM)

I think if you get it installed at the dealer you're looking at more like $750. While it's a good chunk of change, it's absolutely worth it if you value your warranty. The performance increase is significant and I still smile every time I chirp the tires while hitting the gas in 2nd I've had the kit for ~8 months and it was worth every penny.

If you're interested, the part number to give the dealership is 19212670

GMtunersource.com has a bunch of articles on the stage kit. You might have to search around the site a bit, but they're there.

What I mean is, I can already be cruising in 2nd, and hit the gas and break the tires loose. I couldn't do that before the stage kit upgrade.
