IMO if you like the "rice" honda sound you will love straight pipe. Mine is borderline rice and its catless with the Hahn exhaust.
When I had my cutout (since removed) it sounded TERRIBLE at idle. Like complete ass. I imagine straight pipe will sound similar.

On my SC, i cut out the muffler and dumped it out the side. Still has the cat, and everything else is still stock, and sounds pretty bad-ass IMO. It's really loud at WOT and idle's really deep. It's very throaty, not ricey.

I installed a catless dp with a 3" straight through side exit. It stayed on the car for a day and came right back out.. Sounded like complete ass IMO. It needs at least a resonator somewhere to tone things down a bit

I have the Hahn Mod-Pipe with the cutout section, and the Electric Cutout. That's just about as close to running a straight pipe as you can get. And it sounds badassa t idle because you can hear that turbo, and the pops... But it just gets obnoxious as the revs go higher.

You still have a resonator though. 3" CB with no muffler bolted to that catless DP will sound even better except on cold starts. Single engine airplane FTW LOL.

The straight will sound awsome if u use a 18" echo tip on the end with a 1 1/4 inch ring welded on the outside of the tip . my car is super deap sounding with no cat an a 3" pipe inplace of it but it was lower with the catt just barely but with the straight pipe i gained alot of power but u have to have back pressure with the ring . Ive tryd 9 exhuast an its the best performing on the car an lowest an meanest sounding you just gotta do it right. cus ive tryd 9 ways of exhuast it can be done an sound awsome just gotta pull it outa gear an role by the cops

Here's your old downpipe in use.

^^That's catless dp, stock resonator, straight through muffler. There are a couple videos of straight pipes/side exits, but I don't think they sound as good as some sort of resonator/muffler setup.
