Stubborn shifter - solutions?

I have found my 09 SS/TC's shifter to be stubborn from time to time. It's temperamental when I want to shift to R, or 1st or 2nd gear. I was trying to shift into R and 1st gear in the parking lot and didn't want to force it in, so I had to shift around the gates trying to make it work.

Did anyone find a 100% solution to this? Should I change out the gear fluid? It made a HUGE difference when I went to the thicker Red Line High Temp ATF (Mercon) in my TR-3650. Is there something I could do with the F35? Maybe a 75W-140 or 80W-140 might work?

The F35 is known to do this. Just put it back in neutral, then get off and back on the clutch. It will to into gear easily every time. Believe it or not, this is even recommended in the owner's manual.

I tried that and it didn't work. It almost seems random, just like the 1st gear lockout.

for me 2006 ss s/c 1st gear makes this kind of noise and feels like it is pushing back against you when you want to put it into 1st going 10-15 mph. I believe it is a safety feature but somebody must know.

First gear does the lockout-thing on me, as well. Coming from an Altima that did it all the time, though, I'm kinda used to it.

i dont know if the safety feature is in the f35 tranny, not being able to go into 1st above 10mph, (im not trying it on my car) but you shouldnt be putting into 1st above 10mph or so anyway. thats a buttload of stress on the gears. My GF's 05 STI wont let you go into 1st above 10mph. even if you beat the stick, but thats also a 35Grand car.
