T/c Replacement Axles.... :(

Ok so ive been dropped for a few weeks with pedders, and now that the springs have settled (not much driving in the meantime) i go to get an alignment.

Anyway, long story short, it appears my Boot is ripped, and I have grease spittin onto the back of my wheel. Looks like a need a new boot, and im tryin to decide to

A. Go with a new oem axle and replace the bad one instead of repairs, may turn out to be similary priced after labor.

B. Go with aftermarket axles, and switch both out.

I thought the stock LNF axles were pretty sturdy... I have a few bolt-ons and getting trifecta combo tuned by BYT soon, so im indecisive on what to do here.

Im not concerned on how it happend, as I have a pretty good idea.

Also, they have to kit a different kit of bolts with a asymetric lobe in order to get my camber right, it makes sense, but has anyone else had this issue with pedders?

probably during install.

The caliper never dropped it was held on a jack, but upon reinstalling the strut, the top screw got a little loose, and popeed out and down. It was held it place so its not like it came shooting out, but it popped down and probably hit the boot, maybe causing it to tear, and over the little bit of time came open, I did notice the grease last week, but not before that so its still kinda recent.

But again, thats not my concern, i gotta figure out what route im gunna do, and I havent heard much about aftermarket LNF axles, and or where to get replacement OEM / costs of either, or how to repair...

Ive heard its not really worth it to get aftermarket axels. but then again if you need a new one anyway and the prices are the same, then thats ur call. lol!

because i have no idea how ANYTHING costs right now, ideally replacing the boot and regreasing would be ideal, but I have no idea how much it would run, including labor, If i got a new axle I could put it in myself,

Im trying to find my way through the dark with who has axles, price compared to stock / aftermarket, and or how to fix and find parts for said boot.

OTT Stage 1 Axles - Over The Top Performance

also check crateenginedepot for the stock ones... or you can always go to the dealer... put your stock springs back and take it to the dealer... or NAPA also sales axels... idk if they are for the LSJ but check it out...

i think those are for the lsj, ~325whp would never hold up on stock LNF's they would be bustin all the place from people with extra boost, and the fact the companies overbuild and undertune so they save money in warranty work

Ive been trying to find a part number.

Call up CED, buy a boot/grease kit and replace the boot yourself. The last time I did one on (about 10 years ago) it cost about $20 but I can't imagine it's a whole lot more than that now. It's probably about an hour job so you still wouldn't be spending a whole lot if you took it to a shop.
It's kind of a pain getting the boots on and off but you certainly don't need to buy a whole new part.

I had experienced that before. At first it is not working but when I'd checked all parts, the bolts was just the problem so I'd changed it and now it is working good.

WTF. You waited a month to deal with a ripped boot? You'll probably need a new axle now.

I don't have much idea about that but getting aftermarket axles is a bad idea. It will get in trouble.
