taking the balt out of storage tomorrow!

hey guys im taking my 2010 ss out of storage tomorrow. the car was put in storage at the middle of october. i never put any fuel stablizer in it when i stored it and it has a full tank of 91. should i throw in some octane booster when i take it out or just burn it all off?

i'd throw some kind of conditioner in it, and run 93 if you can get it anywhere... but def a stabilizer, did you start it when it was in storage? Also, i'd change the oil. and maybe flush coolant ESP if you didn't start it, TERRIBLE for it if you didn't.

also don't expect it to start instantly, mine had to crank over for a few seconds to get fuel and oil flowing again.

if you didn't start it at all, then you may or may not have corosion in the system. coolant has anti-corrosive properties, BUT if its not warmed up it doesnt fill the system 100%. same with oil. this is why if your storing it its a good idea to start it like 1 time a week. some say more some say less. i say 1 time a week ESP if your storing for a long time. i change the fluids anytime i store a car for longer than 1-2 months. how much gas did you say u had? 1/2 tank, i'd do stabilizer and fill it up... just IMO tho...

You may want to hook a battery charger up to it for a couple hours until it is fully charged. This is what I am doing with mine. Other then that just make sure you put some fuel stabilizer in it next time. I've never heard of anyone doing a coolant flush before after taking it out of storage.

2010 SS/TC, silver. lol I'll be at MUN all summer for a summer semester. We should meet up sometime the summer and go for a cruise. There are three others around that I know. PikerAA (2005 SS/SC, blue), J-Broph (2006 SS/SC, orange), and Terry87 (2007 SS/SC, black).

Which SS do you have? One of the 2 red 2010s or the black granite? (as far as I know there are only 4 2010 SS in NL, 2 red, 1 black granite, and 1 silver)

Yeah i just start mine once a week if the weather was bad if i couldn"t take it for a spin. Corrosion is gunna happen regardless especially in the maritimes due to salt. I would just burn the old gas out and then put the new gas in . Wait until its almost empty then put new gas in. Honestly gas is alot better than it was say 20 or 30 yrs ago due to alot of cleaners. You could fill it up with shell gas thats what i'm gunna do because it got the nitrogen enriched formula in the gas.

Just run through this tank without getting too much into boost and throw some fresh 93 (or w/e premium is there) and then have some fun!

Awesome. Right now I'm stock as well.

Does the silver one have a high rise or the low spoiler light ours? I can't remember seeing any other silver ones around. Is he in our area too?

No shell gas stations in our province.

Fuel stabilizer only helps for storage. It doesn't help after the fact. Just drive the old gas out. Take a long highway trip. You'll be fine.

Starting the car isn't as important as making sure it gets to operating temp when you do.
If the fluids don't get to operating temp starting it is basically worthless other than just putting a fresh oil coating inside the engine.

You do not need to flush your Coolant

Did you at least disconnect your Battery? And store it somewhere warm?

Premium fuel doesnt break down as bad as Regular fuel but you should always use Stabilizer

Synthetic oil doesnt break down like Regular oil but would the cost of the oil change for peace of mind not be worth it?

Make sure you store it with a full tank next year. The lower it is the more condensation that can form in there from temperature changes.
