thinking of getting the ZZP stage 1 cams

I see that they will increase power by about 20% and I think id like to purchase em soon, but im not sure how much installation would cost and would I have to get a tune right away? Only Mods kinky my 09 Ss/tc are 3in downpipe and K&N sri. Any feedback appreciated, thanks

If your tuned, your not going to get a 20% increase, but there is a little more to squeeze on Full E85 with the cams over not having them...maybe 10-20 hp.

Someone else with more knowledge can chime in.

as far as I have read, cams do not give you any more hp, what they do is allow your engine to hit a higher rpm range safely, they will also allow you to use a pulley smaller than 2.9 safely according to their website. So this would all have to do with the tune and being able to squeeze out more hp by upping your rev limiter safely.

lnf not lsj.
also cams dont let u rev higher safely, they can move your powerband to make reving higher useful, valvetrain items such as springs and retainers allow you to rev higher

the best thing op can do is get a tune, as cams wont do ****, and prolly run like crap without one, and a tune will yield you the most power increase.

Not really worth it unless u want to run full e85 or plan on going big turbo. Also you will need springs/retainers. So is is $1000 worth 15hp over a full bolt/tune car?

where do yall saying cams wont do **** for our cars. They actually will do a good job opening up the powerband on stock turbo. If you dont want to spend money on a bigger turbo kit the cams will do justice in boosting torque and power. Remember the LNF is a torque based car. A wider powerband is much better than just adding power that falls flat after a certain rpm. Everything doesnt always have to come down to get a bigger turbo.
