Those that went from SC to TC... step in

1. What was the difference in insurance from your 05-07 SS/SC to your 08-09 SS/TC.

2. After the 2 week thrill of driving it... what are the quirks?

i know when i got my SC, everything was hunky dory, then i found out the flaws/things that made me annoyed after the rush wore off.

So far so good...I had a 2006 ss/sc and the quirks really are about the same with the interior. It seems though that the interior is put together better. The handeling of the car is just absolutely amazing compared to the ss/sc seems to ride smoother as well. Overall same car but certain things better. Quiter, and rides better.

DO IT.... all the comparisons I've made show the TC is a better faster car than the SC

I can't afford to trade up..... so I'm going to have to be content w/ my SC

I went from an 06 to an 09. Insurance is about the same. One problem I have with my car is it pulls to the left so i have to contantly hold the wheel to the right just a touch to keep the car straight. The 06 was dead straight. Also the seats in the new car look better but do not hold me as good as the recaro's did in the 06. I find myself bracing my knees against the door and center console area to stay put when whiping a turn. Never had to in the 06. Other than that the tc is superior to old car in just about every other way. If you can ugrade I would do so without a second thought.

The only real thing u have to get past from the ss/sc to the ss/tc is the direct injection sound, the ticking. It'll probably bug u for the first few weeks maybe a month or so but it's like living near an airport, eventually u just tune it out. As well, the ss/tc has Traction control and stabilitrak, both really helpful items to have on any car.

My insurance went down allot from my 06 to the 09 but of course most of that has to do with it being a sedan im sure. I loved my 06 don't get me wrong but the 09 seems to be more refined. I am a bigger guy and the seats have the same holding power in the corners as the recaro's. The 06 seats were tight when I first got the car and I had to wear them in to feel good, but the 09 seats felt better than the recaro's right away. The TC is so much faster off the line aswell. I am running 2.2 60' times were I was running 2.5-2.6 sometimes in the 06.

Didnt own an SS/SC, but I test drove a few of them. During the TC's test drive, I felt it was a much smoother ride and had more power. I like the TC's seats better than the Recaros, but the Recaros were nice. I like the rims of the TC better aswell. I think both of them are nice as rides, but in the end, I rather have the turbo over the S/C.

my insurance stayed the same and overall the car compared to my 06 sc is night/day. the handling has improved A LOT and the brakes are amazing and the power is so much fun and once these upgrades start coming along this car has much more potential

I am running the car for 10 000km and this car is much more fun than the SC that I had beffore. Cars are differtents, different feelings but for the track and the thrills, the TC is better!

I'm sure this probably dont mean ****, but my insurance went down about $20 a month going from the 01 Mustang GT to the SS/TC. Yeah it was a v8, but alot of turbo'd 4 bangers are pretty expensive when it comes to insurance, i.e the STI and EVO.

I'd be a lil uneasy buying a sporty car w/ 7600 miles on it. Who buys a car for a few months and then takes a ~7k hit unless something is wrong with the car?

No regrets here. The interior looks the same but seems to fit together a lot better. It feels more stable when driving, and the handling is much much better. My insurace went down and my payments are basically the same too... Love the seats.. and the car brakes soooo smoothly.

Why be "content"? Go out and get a dealer installed Stage 2 already!

You'll still retain the warranty as on a new TC, and acceleration will be the same.

^Another Person In Need Of Stage 2

The facts are:
  • TC handles better
  • SC sounds better
  • Stage 2 acceleration is = to TC
  • TC price has gone UP, UP, UP

I had a stg 2 w/ intake, cat-back, and 2.85" pulley w/cooling mods and I still like the TC power/handling wise. The TC had 1 more HP but like 25 more TQ.
