Torque Steer

I own a 2009 SS great car fun to drive. It has the stage one gm upgrade pulls 21-22lbs of boost most of the time. My issue is the torque steer is horrendous when you get after it. What is the fix for this?

Thanks

Jim

Go drive an nsrt4 and you'll find out what torque steer really is. This car isnt bad, just remember bump stter and torque steer ate different things. If the road os unlevel or has big bumps then any front wheel drive car will be a handful at wot.

There is something wrong with your car if it is that serious. You are on gms1 right?

It's the most overlooked performance part that causes this to be worse: tires. Buy good tires.

If your control arm bushings are bad it makes torque steer terrible. That's because the deflection of the control arm changes toe settings as you power down. My spherical all weather cabs won't rust , are guaranteed for the life of your car and takes care of control arm deflection.

Strong forearms and upper arms I one handed mine all the time at wide open throttle and about 100wtrq more than GMS1.

You just came on a site for a powerful fwd car and complained about an issue inherent to powerful fwd cars. What did you expect? Buy an awd car if you can't handle it.

Your right my bad. This is my first frt drive car. I didn't realize it is what it is. In my world if it don't go strait there is something not right. I will up my curls from 12 oz to 16 oz if that don't work I'm willing to go heavy with 24 oz.

I think overtime you just get used to holding onto the wheel tight when you're getting on it. The first time I put it to the floor stock I wasn't ready for it either and it jerked me sideways pretty good. There's no magic fix to torque steer OP, you'll get used to it- just hold on tight.

Get Powell trailing control arm bushings
The stock ones suck and usually dont last past 40k miles. If yours are original they could be torn and wobbly making it much worse

My 1st experience with torque steer was a 91 V6 z24. With an amazing 140 h/p, and 190 ft of torque. You gotta get use to it. There is no fix. There are ways of making it better like others have said, but no real way to fix it.

I like the 12oz to 16 oz curls. That's funny right there. I don't care who you are. LOL.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I'll just suck it up and get used to it. I will check the bushings I'm sure their stock we are the second owner and it just clicked 94500. I'm sure more dumb questions to follow.

Does your car have LSD?

I find the Tq steer very manageable, even with one hand on the wheel
