Tune 2 BOOM!!! Tell Your LNF Tuning Horror Stories

[B]hey everyone!

Forgive the title But I wanted to get ALL of your ATTENTION

My goal in this post is to make a thread that showcases everyone who has ever had a tune to their LNF Turbo SS and the problems that they have had and the damage that it has cost their Cobalt SS Turbo! I am interested in getting a tune next summer and I think I will go with an HP Tune but I would like to do as much research as I can

I would like it set up like this..........

Type of Tune: ( Trifectia, HP, etc)

Who was the Tuner: (Who did the Tune for you and did they do a good job)

Amount of Horsepower/ Torque:

How the car ran when it was on the tune:
(aggressive, very rich, very lean, crappy)

Damages that the Tune did/ cost:

Your opinion on what went wrong: (bad tune, tuner screwed up, your own fault)

What would you change if you could go back: (different tune, different tuner, wouldn't get a tune again.

Your final Opinion: (say anything you want)

Type of Tune: HP Tune
Who was the Tuner: Race Proven Motorsports
Amount of Horsepower/ Torque: 318whp 366wtq...made 389wtq and the clutch gave up

How the car ran when it was on the tune: Car ran great. Ran 20psi for about 10,000 miles and 27-30psi for 20,000 miles

Damages that the Tune did/ cost: New clutch at 40k. Recently it broke a ringland. Will be replacing with a stock piston, head studs, and new gaskets...possibly cams and valvesprings.

Your opinion on what went wrong: Abuse. Running high boost without meth or anyway to cool the cylinder down is just asking for it. The car never knocked and the tune was dead on.

What would you change if you could go back: Nothing. I knew what I was getting into and am having fun doing it.

Your final Opinion: I'd do it all again.

Did your tune hold 27-30psi to redline?

Nah it would spike up to 27-30psi and fall to 17-18psi by 6500 in third and 4th gears.

Tuner: trifecta 23 psi. mods KN SRI badmab catless downpipe. Custom Intercooler 600 hp core.

Running high boost prone to blowing up your end caps on your intercooler. 400$ labor 200$= 600$ so far
Need new tires every few months 200-400$

you need to pay to play... It's all worth it though. next up is Brakes.

PS, its not really the tune or anything... its the maintainence after the tuning lol

There are way better options for tuning in Chicago, because of what he did to people.
