We have three (3) different Catback Exhaust Systems for the Cobalt SS Turbo:
1. CSST-CBE-GT (quietest, but certainly not quiet)
2. CSST-CBE-FL (louder than the GT, quieter than the RFL)
3. CSST-CBE-RFL (loudest and loud as *uck)
All three catback systems consist of three (3) pipes. The first two pipes in each system are the exact same. The first pipe (the one that connects to the downpipe) has a resonator in it that is 4.5 inches in diameter and 18 inches long. The resonator is essentially a small absorption muffler made from perforated pipe with a small chamber packed with fiberglass and steel wool. It is similar in design to this part sold by Vibrant but with a slightly larger outside diameter: Vibrant Performance ::.
The only difference between each catback system is the design of the rear-most pipe (the one with the tip on it). The design of the rear pipe for each system is as follows:
1. CSST-CBE-GT: Muffler; 18 inch long; 7 inch diameter; 3.5 inch single walled slash cut tip
2. CSST-CBE-FL: Resonator; 18 inch long; 4.5 inch diameter; 3.5 inch single walled slash cut tip
3. CSST-CBE-RFL: Straight Pipe; 3" Diameter; 3.5 inch single walled slash cut tip
