Thumbs down Wave byeeeeeee

To my transmission!

Everytime I go to do something with my car it breaks and ruins my fun.. Last week was the O2 dying on the way to the track, this week its 2nd gear before the roadtrip to a dyno meet tomorrow

For a lil bit now the car would pop out of 2nd occasionally when downshifting from 3rd. I figured I was letting out the clutch too soon or something and started to pay more attention after it happened a couple times. Today on my ride home I went to pull away from a stop and it didn't want to go into 1st gear, then it grinded bad going into 2nd. I had a BAD feeling I knew what happened! Every shift into 2nd grinds now but DOES go in. 1st gear is a bit notchy but the other gears engage and disengage just fine! Im guessing 2nd gear syncro is shot from the way the car is acting.

I did try to adjust the cables and while it feels more solid, it still grinds LOL. So I prolly won't take it on the road trip tomorrow just to be safe and time to call the dealer.

Damn man, have to get the rpm's up before shifting to second. Should work for a bit anyways. Have you ever missed the gear or did it just start acting up over time?

That blows. Good luck with it. Maybe it's your clutch?

You are the second person this week I know that lost 2nd gear The other guy asked me to keep his name on the DL, but his is being replaced unnder warranty, he switched out ecms before taking it in, but he did leave his charge pipes and CAI on

He wasn't making no where the power you are, still on factory clutch also, so now I'm all nervous about going turbo upgrade. I guess I'll have to save back 5k for a Trans upgrade, sigh.

Hey, good luck with the dealer and stuff nick. Sucks to hear, but hopefully it is just the 2nd gear synchro. Let me know how you make out.

I watched a local shell out 2nd on his LSJ not too long ago. Not that it had anything to do with your situation, but often I think I might be okay with the ETC "lag" on tip-in. Lessens the shock to the driveline slightly I'm sure.

Good luck with the repairs I see a few transmissions out there on car-part worse come worse.

Dam same thing exactly happen to me. It ended up being the 2nd gear synchro but since the synchro shattered all the metal shavings went everywhere throughout the transmission and they ended up having to replace the whole transmission. Good Luck

SRT , EVO's almost all 4 cyl turbo cars have trans issues , You are throwing a lot of trq at a relatively small trans , I would expect the trans to die too . SRT guys are always replacing the trans with a built trans anyway , The case is in good shape so just pull it out and get the ZZP internals ,

Or do a slush box swap , after I grenade mine thats what I'm doing.. Mine has been pretty strong so far but reverse will grind going into gear if its cold and has sat for a while so ?? I have 24k on it. 20K tuned and ravaged ...
