I have seen this topic raised several times regarding the fitment of weather tech floormats in the ss/tc coupe. In particular seems to be the question of how these mats fit around the clutch...

I promised a couple of member that I would post pics of mine for reference, but unfortunately I didn't get any made until this weekend. Well, better late than never.... so here you go: Weather tech pictures installed in an 08 ss/tc!

I got the same mats last month, great quality and fit! The only issue I ran into was on the drivers mat. I have pedal covers to make heel and toe shifting easier and the clutch pedal would hit the mat not allowing it come up, it would only do it occasionally. It's not a design flaw in the mat so I just trimmed off 1 cm from that part of the mat and we're good to go.

I just went to the weather tech site and called them up. If you call them to place your order I found that they tend to process the order faster... and they can tell you immediately if they are in stock. Weather tech is also supposedly creating rear mats as well, but I am not sure when they will be released...

so you order the "floorliner" as opposed to the all weather mats. How do you like them, whats it like driving with that plastic underneath feet?

liner/mat - same thing from what the salesperson told me on the phone... Actually you don't notice them - if you currently have floor mats then these won't seem any difference. The only thing noticeable is that there is no shifting and the entire area is covered...

I've had these on my list of "to order" for a while now; primarily for the winter where rubber mats get in the way of everything and the summers just don't hold up. Looks to me like it'll be a worthwhile investment .

Yeah, called them up on a friday morning and ordered... they shipped that afternoon... I got them on a Tuesday(?)...

These are totally worth while... I found that the bottom of the rubber mats (and even summer floor mats) tended to tear up the fibers on the carpeting. In fact, as soon as I can confirm whether they ever released the rear liners I will invest (my rear mats seems to be picking at the carpet - and they are actually completely smooth on the bottom)....

I REALLY like those. I have a cheap pep boys mat overtop of the stock floor mat right now. Once I get some extra loot i'll be buying a set. Thanks for the post!

The Floorliners were $120 shipped based on what Weathertech quoted me. I ended up buying some Rubbermaid mats from Target for $5 on-sale. $120 is too steep a price for floor mats.

Yeah, they are pricey... won't lie there. But you get what you pay for. I figure that if you divide the price by the servicable lifespan of the product, you can easily justify the price for weather techs...

I have never seen anything that quite compares to these.....

The floorliner's are really nice because they contain all the residue/water from your shoes. I can't justify the price because I could really buy 5-10 sets of rubber floormats that last just as long. The only drawback to the cheap set I have is that they don't protect the carpet as well as the floorliner. I compensated by buying the largest set of mats and trimmed them to fit.

Understood... I actually hesitated at first until another forum member talked about how great they were and I finally caved... I have never been happy with the floor mats I have purchased in the past - and I have always had to buy something to make up for the previous purchase. In this case I can honestly say I won't own another mat/liner - ever...

I hope your plan works out - it should if you are able to stay on top of it.... good luck

I've been using it since the beginning and don't have any complaints. I don't plan to drive the Cobalt in the winter so it's all good. I would buy a Floorliner for my Crown Vic since it is my daily driver, but they don't make one for that car! I get an insane amount of slush and mud inside that car.

I bought these and they totally warped from september of last year until now... I've had issues with them since day one with my clutch and brake getting caught under the lip of the tip of the mat cause it wasnt anywhere near flush with the floor... too expensive of a product in my opinion to have a simple problem like that with them, just my $.02

hmmm... I wonder if they have changed the cast slightly. I have had mine since Feb with no issues (no warping) and they have never interfered with the clutch or brake....

Do you have a SS? If so, what year? - I am also wondering if it could be a model/year issue....

Have you tried contacting weather tech? Did you get any sort of compensation?

Yea, I have an 09 TC, and all they said to do was trim the lip where the clutch and brake caught, kinda BS, my drivers side is totally warped, my passengers side is totally fine

Don't blame you for being upset then.... This is the first time I have ever heard of them warping/not fitting so I am not sure what may be going on. I will keep an eye on mine just to make sure...

ok i see this is an old thread but i just bought an 08 sport with a manual trans. the weather tech site says they dont fit the manual cars im wondering if theyll fit mine. im assuming that my pedals are similar to the tc pedals.
and whats the difference between the auto and manual floors
