ECaulk 02-01-2016 09:47 PM

Fixed it for ya. Fit and finish of the zzp unit is better. But honestly if you want performance get pwerks, not the race one their standard, garrett cores way better.

Idc if it fits like shit lol. Worth the function and quality to me. They make really nice aftermarket parts and the welds are nice and it feels sturdy. Plus I like how it looks. I've gotten compliments on it from all my friends. My one friend actually bought a tr10 for his cressida cause he saw how nice my intercooler was.

Everyone has their own opinions.

The function is meh, compare IAT2 temps to a ZZP. Every piece I've seen from Treadstone sucks donkey balls in the quality department and fits like ass their cobalt intake is a fucking joke

Snail_SS 02-02-2016 10:55 AM

Just go with zzp and call it a day, or the tr 10 it's his money in the end lol

user 72239 02-02-2016 11:10 AM

For the love of god, don't buy Treadstones

Calling a spade a spade.

blueLNFftw 02-02-2016 08:11 PM

Treadstone sucks

Slowbalt2000 02-02-2016 08:15 PM

Id like to see zzps core density, because for the price, a treadstone is one of the nicest cores you can buy. After garrett and precision of course.

The performance as far as controlling iat2 creep on the lnf is damn good, compares to treadstone maybe a little better. I'll pull the log from when Colodude chased down a MP4 on his zfr, he's running a zzp intercooler, that will show how well it works

no_ss 02-02-2016 10:35 PM

Honestly I'm sure they all function just as well as one another. I just said treadstone because that's what I have and I like it and I'm happy with it. No ones bashing zzp intercooler. A bigger intercooler just doesn't get heat soaked as fast as a smaller one would because there's more surface area to disperse more heat so you can do more consistent pulls.

Omiotek 02-03-2016 12:57 AM

nothing is as good as a bell core hands down for all those that wanna debate the topic. i have the only bell core on a cobalt intercooler. iat readings on a 77 degree night after beating it on the dyno with no fans on and doing a few more pulls showed temps 4-6 degrees above ambiant. i have sensors pre and post intercooler. my core costs almost as much as zzps entire intercooler at vendor cost.

the zzp is the best ive logged for the money.

and a bigger core doesnt mean its going to cool better or work better. same with using cast end tanks vs fabricated end tanks. its all about fin density, pressure drop, and size for setup, end tank design. air velocity entering and exiting the core etc etc
