Whats the BEST Turbo Upgrade for an LNF w/ a Quick Spool?

Hey guys, I just want to get an idea of what are some of the Better Upgraded Turbo's for our LNF's? Here is some of the Criteria that i would like to have: Money...What is the Best Bang for your Buck, Didnt want to spend Thousands for a New Turbo. 2) I want a Full Spool time range of about 2,500-3,000 RPM's, Guess I would like the spool time to be as close to stock as possible. 3) Direct Bolt-On, I just want to strap on and go, lol. I am just confused as to what I should be looking at with sooooo many Turbo's out there and it dosen't help that I'm new to the LNF, Not new to the Cobalt tho(Check Sig), Thanks!

bnr 2871 would probably fit your specs.. unless you wait for the ZFR then that will win in every way but money.. hahn does a s20g for slightly cheaper however power potential is very similar to the bnr (the s20g is slightly higher but not by much) and it spools a bit later (both can hit just about 450 on e85).. both the s20 and the bnr you need a bov setup the zfr you will not but who knows when that will come out. there are little things you have to tweak for either the hahn turbo or bnr though

zzp offers some real good turbos at affordable prices. i think a really good one is the 252et. spools up pretty dam quick and gets you moving better than the stock turbo. im pretty sure its bolt on as well.

Its a fun turbo. Mine wont hit full boost till close to 4k for some reason and I still like it. I need to check my exhaust manifest and wga actuator.

Yeah, I'm actually getting HP Tuned 25PSI and MAF relocate with Tial q BOV this Sunday, So the BOV set-up wont be an issue, Whats your take on the 252et? I see a LOT of guys running that Turbo.

It's like the stock turbo on steroids and a perfect turbo for a daily driver.

IMO, the little bit of lag from some of the turbo upgrades is beneficial for traction. I can't see the efr being good for traction at all.

The S252ET is good if you never wanna go over 450. If you wanna hit 450 you are going to have to run e85. I believe ZZP hit 490 on it but they were really pushing the limits of the LNF then.

ZFR once it is released of course. BNR is the second option.

Sully, I am one of the few people to have graced the three sizes of borg warners. And the statement of no other turbo spooling like the EFR, I am not totally in agreement with. The S252et was an extremely fun turbo that reacted extremely quickly. I could go partial throttle (25%), and let off and the turbo would already be starting to spool.

The EFR setup will also be an amazing setup too when it comes out.

THIS. My 5557 full spools (25psi) about 4100. Second gear still spins but just a little bit in 3rd which is nice...for traction reasons.

that was the same turbo I was looking at, but with that turbo would i be able to keep the internal bov or would it be better to have a external?? also if i ever put on a hks bov how would i do that when i already have a charge piping that doesnt have a place for one

What's not to agree with? The efr spools faster than the 252 and any other bolt on option. Ask your buddy Matt he has posted it a few times.

ya from vids of the efr i seen from donkey or lars it def spools faster than the 252 but prob only by a few 100 rpm, its hard to stay out of boost on the 252 i build 5-8psi just driving normal before i know it

20G has no bov so you would need an external one. You can have the flange for the bov welded to your current charge pipe.

somethings either mechanically wrong or your PE / wastegate duty tables are set to make it spool slower
