Which wheels will fit?

haven't seen this discussed in a while and YES I used the search function but to no avail...

i'm thinking about getting new wheels when I get my taxes back(because I need tires anyway)... so what are our options?

I either want chrome or black chrome, no gunmetal, etc.

and just for future reference, no my stock wheels will not be for sale

There you go they moved the thread to the Wheel and Tire section stickied at the top. Of course there are more than the ones listed with spacers if you don't mind going that route.

Not my cup of tea. I say get O.Z. Ultraleggeras in Black. They are about $130 more a wheel but they will look so much better on your car. If you want less expensive I say the Enkei EKM3s. I know you said no gun metal but they are a real nice dark gun metal and would look sick on your color car IMHO.

Just an FYI, I called the dealer ship to find out more about the stock rim. I dont believe in a lateral changed unless the a wheel is just fantastic. It turns out that our rims are forged and in a shipping box for one wheel, its weight with box etc is only 22lbs.

So unless you can find a me a non-expensive upgrade (lower weight) that looks good on my car and will fit around the brembos, I think I'll just end up powder coating the stocks black.

Depends on what you consider expensive. O.Z. Ultraleggeras are lighter than stock by approx 4lbs each and they look killer on our cars IMHO. They cost ~$350 a piece which is not cheap but not super expensive either IMO.

Yes the O/Z rims your talking about do look good but for $350.00 a wheel for 4 x 4lbs lighter is kinda high in my book. If they go on sale I might pick them up. I'm hoping for more rims to come out that will be a bit lighter with better colors to match my car in the next year or two, or like I stated, I'll probablly powder coat mine like some have done here. I wanted the Konig Again 5 black and red but they don't fit past the brembos.

Read and learn, there are more benefits to lighter wheels than you make think.

The performance benefits from reducing unsprung weight and rotational inertia are far greater then they seem on paper. This is of course completely ignoring the additional benefits to braking and handling which results from dropping unsprung weight.

Why are you trying to educate me on unsprung weight? Did I say I was going to put a heavier rim on my vehicle? I already know about the benefits of a lighter rim, hence the fact that I stated UPGRADE as in LIGHTER WEIGHT on a rim. What I said was 350.00 per rim is not a valid purchase for ME for only 3-4lbs lighter per rim. It's about money, not techology.

Now, since thats all cleared up, I did call Enkei about some of their rims. One in particular the PF01. It comes out in late Feb. and is priced CHEAPER than the O.Z.'s by about $50.00 and is slated to be about (17-17 1/2)lbs which is also lighter than O.Z.'s. I have a friend who works for Discount Tire as a manager so I will probably be picking these up for about 250.00 to 275.00 per rim. WOOT SAUCE! And yes I can wait for 2 months to save about 100.00 per rim and knock off about 5lbs per rim as an upgrade. Only down side is they don't come in black.

There's already a thread about those Enkei wheels in the wheel and tire section, conflicting info on whether they will fit or not over the Brembo's, you could always use a hub centric spacer. I really don't care for the looks of the PF01 myself, especially in silver, but to each there own. I bought the SSR Type C RS's new for $560.00 shipped to my house on sale.

No need to get your panties in a wedge, information is always good, if not for you maybe someone else reading the thread and not knowing.

They do fit. TireRack originally told me that they do not fit but a few days later they listed them on their site. I pre-ordered a set and will hopefully have them by mid March.

TR guarantees the fitment that they list, so I'm confident they will fit.

I don't think anyone would be willing to pay $350 x 4 to save 16 lbs or unsprung weight...you shouldn't buy new wheels unless you want or need new wheels...

If you are going to pay $200 each for wheels that are 2-4 lbs heavier than the stock wheels, you should look at it as paying another $600 to save 6-8 lbs per wheel.

I banged up my stock wheels using them during the winter so I decided to save up and buy a nicer set of wheels for summer. It is worth it to pay more for a stronger, lighter set than to pay a bunch of money to replace the stockers with heavier (and sometimes uglier) wheels. Buy the best set out there if you are making them your primary summer wheels...you won't regret it...
