36,000 miles, no drivetrain issues. Tuned up to the max since 9k miles. Mods in sig.

Ditched the stock rear brakes at ~9k, fixed the cam sensor area oil leaks myself.

April 23rd was my 1 year purchase anniversary and I have almost 27,000 miles.
Problems are as follows:

1.) rear brakes went bad by 15,000 miles and were replaced at 22,000 miles.
2.) Sunroof rattles but oh well.
3.) during the below freezing winter months, the shifter would freeze in place in the morning.
4.) The car died mysteriously twice since owning it. (battery went dead.) Battery has not been replaced since then and the car works fine. Very strange but I never had it investigated.
5.) the air vents make s a clicking noise when the air is turned on to power level 1 or 2. sounds like baseball card in bicycle spoke.

I'm just hitting 15000 took delivery in july 09 with 24 miles on the clock, ive had no drive train issues other than the shifter freezing like cudajoe described and a check engine light that was on for all of 5 seconds because i was dumb and did a nls b4 the engine was fully warmed up. but like cuda joe i also have a slight ticking in the duct work. i also have a squeaky clutch and a couple of minor rattles. The only warranty work that ive had done was on the XM module and the dealer was real cool about it except for the aveo rental i had while it was in the shop....

57940 km / 36009 miles in 16 months. All the issues I had were suspension / brakes related. Unlike most tc owners, even my front brakes are wearing horribly, not only the rear. Other than that, I get the usual rattles and little annoyance every cobalt owner gets. The car still puts a smile on my face every time I trow it around a corner and every time that I get the wtf I just got smoked by look.

what was your fix for the freezing shifter during below freezing winter mornings?
I let the car warm up for 20-25 mins with the cup holder popped out and it would start to break loose, I never forced it loose for fear it would brake the plastic shifter linkages. what I think was happening is the plastic when cold was shrinking around the metal part of the shifter linkage and effectively holding it tightly in place. Never got it fixed at a dealer, but I figure theres probably a silicone spray you can spray on the metal part to keep it sliding.

I think the shifter freezing is mostly a moisture issue. I get the frozen shifter issue after driving through some snow when the engine / trans etc are all at operating temp. I guess some water gets on the outside part of the linkage and just freeze it. I just rock the shifter side to side and start driving immediately. Never had a problem doing this, but I will still be looking for a solution to this. Maybe some silicon based lubricant will do the trick.

Coming up on a year of owning my baby and 13,000km:

1) Headlight condensation - replaced by dealer
2) Scratched rim when they were changing my tires - fixed by dealer
3) Sunroof ratle - scared to take it to dealership in fear they will f**k something else up
4) Squeaky clutch - I just put a silicone spray on it every week lol
5) Slightly loose drivers seat - will take to dealership soon
6) Waiting for power steering recall

Mods are in sig with a tune to follow in the very near future.

PS: Like was said before everytime I put my foot into it or drive on a twisty road I and really that's all that matters with a budget performance car

I am amazed on a daily basis at how quickly I can take a sharp turn with this car and still be on the road. The handling is by far the most attractive attribute of this car. Just awesome.

Exactly how I feel about this car. It has so much grip (especially with a 200 treadwear tire...) that you should not find the limits of grip on a public road.

My car did the same thing, Both were when I did not drive the car for a few days. Nothing was left on, nothing was plugged into the cigarette lighters or anything.

I just rolled 23k kms.
