Why do people hate our cars?

I'm fairly sure that in years to come, the SCs and TCs will attain fetish status with a small number of drivers who remember their amazing capabilities, the way they remember other little econo cars that had no right to go as fast as they did, like the Sunbeam Tiger.
Just the same, it's better to be hated than puzzled at. Someone who got whupped by a Tiger will probably just scratch their heads and ask "What was that weird thing?" and soon forget it, rather than flying into a rage and giving a one-finger salute.
Since the general population will probably forget what a Cobalt TC was, I may as well keep my bowties flying instead of debadging. Nothing worse than having your expensive import beat by a cheap Chevy, except getting beat by a cheap OLD Chevy, right?

that's because when people would go in to test one out, the sales person would say "you need to fiil this paperwork before you take one out" and when asked why their response would be "this car is in the same class as the viper" , happened to me when I was looking to trade my pos '04 civic ex back in '04, I'll never own another honduh car if I can help it, their bikes are ok in my book lol

when i first saw the 05 S/C in the magazine, i was in love with it. i was thinking to myself, "wow, i could actually see myself driving this". 4 years later, i bought myself a 09 T/C.

I remember when when they first came out. I got to test drive the SS/SC and IRL around a little parking lot track at HIN. If the added an ABM or intake they would have been alot more appealing to people.

this dealer was a joke, they went under a couple years later they did some crazy deal and more people answered than the tought they had to pay all the trade ins, and went bankrupt lol, anyways about 6 months after the srt4=srt10 funny sales person made me change my mind, I finally ended up trading the civic for a '06 lt sedan and really liked it, and in '08 when I was looking to buy a sporty car, the only reason I didn't argue with the wife when she said she wanted a 4 dr instead of the coupe was my experience with the lt (at the time I really wanted a silver coupe, tho'), but now I wouldn't trade my sedan for one, too used to having the extra doors, and I like how cops don't look at me twice lol

Then I was due for a new car and saw the Cobalt SS/SC for dirt cheap compared to the RSX, didn't want a car payment and took the plundge since I'd have the SC almost paid off before I even started my loan.
Drove it and realized, my integra was slow as hell!
Rest is history.
I like my car, but I hate the hate. It sucks, sometimes I don't even mention it because I have to explain why I got my cobalt to some.
"What do you drive"
"a Cobalt SS Turbo"
"Cobalt??!?!?!?!, the rental car"
"Mine isn't a rental car, it's fast...." blah blah you get the picture.

Same here, I was all about Honda though, I had an Integra and thought I was the **** with, Intake/Headers/Exhaust/High Flow Cat and a bunch of styling mods (Rims, Tien springs, Type R spoiler, saving for JDM conversion, etc.) I don't really street race so I never realized my limits, but Cobalt SS/SC, and Neon SRT-4 sucked. Forget about the focus lol.

LOL, I forgot I changed my signiture. It explained it there, but I decided to get a little artistic.
I had a 2006 Black Cobalt SS/SC then I was unsatisfied because I needed new rotors, clutch, paint was fading yadda yadda. I just felt like I got ripped off some how so I traded it for a VR 2009 Cobalt SS/TC with one thousand miles.
It was a great and bad decision on my part. I should have just stuck it out, paid off the 2006 SS/SC then traded it for a 2010 White SS/TC or Evo X.
Oh well, live and learn, I am happy overall even with this buyers remorse

I don't get it. I've experienced cobalt hate 3 times and read about it numerous times.
Example... I like my license so me street racing is very very rare, but my friend, my girlfriend (it's true, when your friends are with you, you are more likely to lower in IQ) and I were driving to see Scott Pilgrim vs. the World yesterday and a WRX with rims, BOV, lowered and exhaust pulled up next to me, No clue what else he had. These guys seemed cool at first, asked if I wanted to go etc. I agreed and we went and I smoked him. It was fun, well next light we did the same thing without words and I won again. Well traffic and stuff prevented more racing, but I can see them following me from a few cars back. My girlfriend is freaking out thinking we're gonna get jumped, but these kids were high school so my friend and I weren't too worried.
Long story short, they just did a drive by **** talking and started hating on my car when we got to the mall. Calling it a POS, they're surprised it didn't break down on that run and so on. My friend and I yelled back and they drove off. It was by far the most immature I've been in years. Anyway it got me thinking....
What's up with all the Cobalt SS hate?
I see it in other forums, my other friends express to me their dislike in the car.
My buddy Kyle, only drives Lexus/Toyota, has a MRS and a Lexus IS250, he respects my cars engine, but has nothing good to say on quality and cheapness of the interior. He admits his MRS isn't much better, but he says it feels solid where as the cobalt doesn't.
My other friend Justin used to drive a Chevy Extreme, but as soon as he went VW GTI, he's got nothing good to say about my car when compared to VW, but he respects the car. Even told me he'd kill me if I traded it in for a RX-8.
My other friend Javi, is impressed with the car, but hates it.... I don't get it either.
Reading on Evo forums and Honda forums, I see people saying "I don't care about the numbers, it's still a Cobalt", but isn't a Type R just a civic, or a Evo just a Lancer or a STI just an Imprezza?
Someone enlighten me?
I Love it and my girlfriend thinks it's really nice, but she would rather me have an RSX or a Kia Sorento...... yup a Kia......

Second Cobalt owners love cobalts, dont expect others who have many different tastes and views to apprieciate the beauty of our rides.
Third some people are just sore losers and has nothiing to do with your car and even if it did hahahhaa Price to HP is the best u can get.
