Would An SSTC make a good daily?
Would An SSTC make a good daily?
Would an ss/tc make a good daily driver? would be driven in the snow.
Also considering an SRT4 I guess my second question is which would make a better daily and have the most reliability?

Ive got an 06 LS and its boring the hell out of me. I like the driver assist features of the new SS/TC. I also like the power it can put down for a simple tune. Id like to trade in my cobalt ls for a dp on an SS/TC i just wasnt sure how it held up as a daily driver.
You need a black coupe- This is the one you want!

Mine is also a daily driver. I have driven mine in the snow and I make 397wtq and haven't had issues. Though it does suck worse than my Integra did in the snow.
I have all season tires however and I'm willing to bet snow tires would be perfect winter driver.
I however don't like the fact it's two doors. I'm currently on the market for a new 4 door hatch or something. I may end up in a Focus ST, MS3, GTI or if it does come out, 4 door Cruze SS and Dart SRT4

the performance increase is pretty insane to keep it lightly, which is awesome but there are some drawbacks to that depending where your DD goals are at..
I'd never recommend a SS/TC as a all year round commuter ONLY type car though (only if you can afford having two vehicles).. i mean sure its nice having something quick but for a commuter my LT was perfect.. it was snappy, somewhat stylish, cheap to work on, and got great MPGs all year round. I'd drive it like I stole it and even during the worst of winters i'd be getting 29MPG tanks.. during the best months of summer I'd get 38ish MPG hwy.. no SS can compete with that
I can only have one car, so my SS/TC isnt only my commuter, but my racecar as well
also the 4 door is totally worth having if you can find one! Its awesome having the extra headroom and not having to move your seat whenever you got more than 1 passenger. The only real difference in the 2/4 doors is the obvious number of doors, increased headroom on the 4door, different A-pillar sizes, and different rear end styling (which I prefer more as well imo).. other than that they are identical in every way
Oh, n the sleeper part of the 4 doors is the best part!!! I've surprised countless people on the street and track in what I call my "sleeper sedan". NObody knows about the 4 door SS/TC's. I've gotten so many comments on "what the hell did you do to that to make it so fast" or "did you put the brembos on there? I thought the coupes only had those?" or "I've only ever seen an SS coupe before, they made 4 doors?".. just the funny comments make the sedan worth having if you can find one

take your time and find a 4 door SS/TC. it worked out great for me last winter with some snow tires. gas mileage is GREAT and the car is somewhat fast/quick! i get no less than 27MPG. i drive in bumper to bumper traffic EVERYDAY and it does not bother me. i went from a LS to a SS and havent looked back, aside from the fact that i owe money on my SS/TC and my LS was about a year away from being paid off but ****,the SS i think i a perfect daily driver.
like i said before,if you slap some decent WINTER tires on,you wont be stopped in the snow. we get a good amount of snow here im MN and last winter when i drove my SS/TC (i now have a winter beater for this upcoming winter) i didnt have any problems getting through the snow. unless you see 12inch snow falls weekly, but if thats the case, you wouldnt be driving a 4-skin or a SS/TC.

For snow:
AWD > FWD > RWD
If you're gonna DD it do yourself a favor, and get a seperate set of winter wheels and snow tires. The car has enough power that you won't want to run an all season, you'll quickly realize that they aren't sticky enough. Summer/winter switching is where it's at on a performance car. They're great in the snow with snow tires.
