Wrx vs SS

THis kid in a WRX has been talkin mad ****. But all he has is a short throw and intake, being really sketchy about other details and such. But at face value with those mods.. What kind of race would it be between his wrx and my 09 SS/TC with a GMS1?

What Mr. Bill said but a GMS1 SS/TC typically walks STI's let alone WRX's. Weight and AWD drive train loss kills

My uncle has a 13 wrx nice car six speed great seats and looks great in blue but it aint that fast I believe 265hp. Every dig race he jumps out about a car (should be more but he wont launch it hard) I get to second then start pulling back around him about 80mph. From 40 to 105ish I put about 3 on him and I am bone stock.

BTW

I raced my friends 13 wrx from a 20 roll and we were neck to neck. I have a lsj with bolt ons so you should deff be able to beat him. Now he has stage 1 tune so he will beat me

I've spanked every wrx/sti that's on a stock turbo regardless of tune/mods. If he's tuned/bolted and your just gms1 it may be a bit closer. Also depends on what year wrx it is

Race him. If he has a nasty build and beats you, he has a nasty build you have a damn near stock car. Now if he only has a short throw (probably just a stock STi shifter) and intake and is talking mad **** (which makes me assume he only has an intake and a short throw), drag his dick through the dirt and let him stare at the Cobalt's sexy tail lights.

09 and up wrx/sti's are low to mid 13 second cars. I dont know how the GMS1 does at the track but Ive seen some HPtuned cobalts only manage low 13s.

With that said, I ran my friends 08 wrx which was 20g swapped and making 360whp/360trq. I have bolt ons with hptune. from a 20mph roll I barely pulled away.

my bad definitely not an sti or I would have gotten murdered I thought he said six speed but we must have been talking about the sti he wants to trade for now that ive proven to him a wrx is slower than a stock cobalt with 104k on the clock

OP I have a 2014 WRX and a 2008 LNF.

The WRX is pretty quick. The turbo spools late, so if you do a roll you will more than likely smoke it.
My car dyno'd 225 whp, 260 wtq stock, so its on par with a stock LNF. The gearing is shorter, but its a 5 speed.

If its got Cobb Stage 1, you are looking at around 250 whp. give or take.
Cobb stage 2 is around 270 or 280.

Ive run WRX on their stock turbos up to 2013 with my 2.9" bolted LSJ m62. Beaten every single one. Only thing that stayed even was a 2013 wrx on cobb stage 1, but I was on the 3.06" pulley and **** ass trifecta tune.

Doesn't surprise me. I think a stock LSJ could take it. Just like our stock turbo's the VF52 falls on its face in the upper RPM's. I think at redline its at 8 or 9 psi.

A stock LSJ should be able to take a stock bug eye subbie.
Last bug I ran was with my current setup. H/E/CAI/60s/2.9/HPT and I put 3 buses on it (and pulling) from a 20mph roll by the middle of 3rd gear. WRX was stock.

Stock for stock it'd be interesting. Before I upgraded I ran my buddies 2013 WRX with Cobb stage 1 work done to it and he only pulled a car on me. It'd be interesting.

The Sti had around 200whp stock. Air intake won't improve that a whole lot. If he has exhaust and tune as well he should be around 285 whp. So race, either way if it's from a roll, ull win

i had a 2013 subie wrx with dp, custom tune, fp, e85 , injector, etc, stock turbo but bolt ons, i have a cobalt ss now turbo and i love it more than the subie, subie good for dig runs but from a roll cobalt alwayts going to win unless you have driver mod and some good tires for the dig runs.

Also depends on driver. Normally the kids that can't drive talk the most.

Lsj>wrx

Just had a run in on a newer wrx and he said cobb s2 and a couple other things

Put a car or 2 on it from 30-90 and that was with my bigger 2.8 pulley
