09 TC SS oil?

How much do they take? My old car is due for its first change since my buddy got it from me and we're not 100% sure. We know Mobile 1 5w30 and we're gonna run a Purolator filter we just need a quick heads up on how much to buy. Thanks.

they acutally sell a 5 quart container w/ handle at some places of the oil recommended, mobil 1. Walmart has it around me, cheaper than buying 1qt containers.

The last few times I went into a Walmart I was greeted by an ugly and/or strange person. Two things that I would think would be seen as negatives during the hiring process of greeters. But then again, being greeted by a normal person may give you a false sense of where you actually are.

I haven't seen five quart jugs cheaper anywhere else and they sell good filters. The prices have gone up though, used to be able to get Pennzoil Platinum for $18.

I have used fram in the past however I have seen fram filter elements colapse turn to mush and get sucked into the engine in under 2000 miles of use...so, I prefer using other brands that have some more quality.

Yeah, I mean everytime I've changed the oil and filter it's been still firm and intact. Maybe quality has gone up since the last time you used them. dunno.

The issue with the Fram filters is related to them using cardboard end caps instead of metal, which has been shown to break down and cause the media to collapse. But this is only for the spin-on canister filters. I wouldn't see an issue with using the cartridge filters made by Fram for the ecotec, since it is constructed the same as all the other ones. The actual filter media works just fine.

When GM stopped putting the SS logo on the dash, did they forget to include the owners manual as well?

Hey wheres a good place to buy a 5 quart jug of oil?? j/k

The problem with walmart is that theyre almost always out of 5w30 Mobil 1 5quart. I tend to watch the sale papers when its getting close to oil change time and you can usually find a deal on 5 quarts of Mobil 1 or PP and a free oil filter of various manufacturers for the $20-$25 area at Autozone or one of the other autp places. Was that a run-on sentence? LOL
