stubborn people will tell you it's ok.

perfectionists will tell you it's not.

They make a big deal because they dont understand it.

You can run for years on that setup, and will be just fine.

could your stock transmission hold more TQ than it's rated at, sure.

is it a gamble, yes.

my 42's went way over duty cycle. other's claim that their's were fine in HPT. Does that mean I don't understand it, perhaps. But it does prove that you are taking a risk, you can't argue with that. The fact that the set up didn't work for me is undeniable proof that it's a gamble, that there are exceptions, and therefore not a good idea.

why tell someone to chance it on the basis that some have experienced success when 100% of people who switched to 60's have no issues with their pulley size?

That's why I say perfectionists will go with the 60's.

the non understanding stagement was general... Not towards you.. sorry.

Otherwise... If it is a gamble, it isnt much of one...

If you wanna make more power, than your gonna need to upgrade.... And im not saying you shouldnt buy 60s.. ever.. im AM saying, however, you dont NEED them with a 2.8...

My idcs were "fine" in hptuners... the idc is calculated a little different for 4-bangers, so the number differentiates... My PWs were in line with not being detrimental to my engine... which is the important number.

Very well put.

If it's one thing that is certain about these cars is two of them witht he exact same things done can respond two very different ways and need two very different tunes.

It is a big gamble. Of course it also depends on how you drive your car and whther or not you have a custome tune. With a custom tune a 2.8 with 42# can be made somewhat safe. Without a custom tune it is a ticking timebomb. I don't personally know anyone who has blown a motor running 2.8 and 60#, but everyone I personally know that HAS run a 2.8 with 42# HAS blown their motor. You can take those statistics anyway you like.

lol i could have sworn i put it in the lsj section but anyways i have the stage 2 tune only ..but i had the 60lbs in before and two range colder plugs and the 2nd piston lost compresion but getting a chuck blown out of it, i believe from detenation and on my first motor i ran the 2.8 with the 42lbs and stage two and it was a lot faster and amazing but now i want to be safe about it but i dont really want to put the 60's back in
