2009 cobalt ss/tc auto swap

might as well get a new thread started as the car has reached another milestone. Made it's first test voyage today. computer keeps closing the throttle, but I need to tune the car still as it's stlil running the old tune.
few more issues left to solve before the real fun begins:
1 - transmission control, going to try having vince write in the controls on the pcm, but not sure if it will work with the trans controller.
options: stand alone trans controller, or manual valve body with lock-up switch
2 - speed sensor won't read from the auto one, need to figure that one out.
3 - fan circuit relay not switching, all wires for fans have been check and traced and all are correct, need to figure out how they get switched, option for that is a seperate fan controller, which will be more than likely as there was 6 hours of wiring work just today, not to mention the 20+ hours allready tracing crap.

anywho, without further hoopla. here she is finally moving

it shifts..... still needs more tuning of course, but should be finished up this week.

I would say flash it with an HHR SS O/S so it thinks it is an HHR..

If you do try write entire, I heard you have to do it twice to flash the TCM. First it does ECU, then it'll do TCM.

well issue here is not sure if the tcm and pcm can communicate, thats tomorrows test.
have an hhr auto file to play with so we shall see what happens. and the trans is a 4t45 with 4t65 internals. Tomorrow should be a fun day though as today was just to get the car to drive. tomorrow is working on the tune, finishing up some wiring, and trying to make it shift on it's own. It did the other night when it was on jackstands, I have a feeling it's something with the throttle closing for now.

you don't want to know. but now that some things have been figured out, it shouldn't be as bad...... but it still was one hell of a project, bill did all the fab work on this, I just helped with the wiring, and will be doing the tuning on it. well I also had the fun of tracking down all the parts and necassary items and tech specs needed for this

this isn't my car btw this is mezzano's on here. I still have my 06 lol. mezz has some serious ***** for letting us do this, especialy since this is the first one that I know of

we're shooting for the first stock motor car in the 10's this summer, if I can get this thing to hit a 10.99 I'll be happy as ****

When I first asked about this most everyone told me I was stupid for wanting an auto! Glad to see this making progress! I hope more drag racing oriented people see the light an go with an auto swap. Good work man! I can't wait to see that 10 second pass!
