2009 cobalt sstc reset oil change notification

I have searched and found a bunch of different answers for resetting the oil change notification all of which have not worked properly. What is the right way to do this? Otherwise I might just bring it to the stealership although I'd rather not show my face there. Thanks in advance.

turn the key on. Hold down the info button. Reset oil life should come up, then just hold the arrow button.

On my 08 2.4 you turn the car to ignition on then floor the gas pedal fully 3 times.
