i have a full 3 inch cat back, with out the resonator, and a magnaflow race muffler...
i kinda want it to be louder so i was thinking about a muffler delete.
just wondering if anyone on here has a full 3 inch only, no muffler or anything.

i had to put a muffler cuz of the cops... but its a full turbo back....(no cats, resonator) only muffler and i like it more than without a muffler

3" catless dp followed by a no-resonator, no-muffler set up is going to be loud as hell. You will be that guy. Yeah I have the hahn exhaust sounds perfect to me. The tuner sceen here: obnoxiously loud = rice.

 

I'd say go cat-less, it'll improve performance, provide a sexy sound, win - win right there

 

yeah catless is whats going to go over the top on sound for you... alot diffrent sounding. but also to southtown if he is whippin some ass why does it matter what it sounds like. they laugh cus ur car is ricey sounding and u laugh cus u walked there ass with a ricy sounding car.

 

I wasn't trying to be mean to him. Just telling him everyone I know hates when some car comes screaming by. Maybe it's just because it seems to be honda's and other cars doing it.

ohhh **** i just say were you have a catted dp. 3" open all the way back wouldn't be that bad then. Just don't side exit the exhaust.

how much louder you think it would be?

 

Should be considerably louder than your current setup and moderately louder than the stock piping resonator/muffler delete. Should sound like a neon SRT-4 how they pop and crackle but a little different engine tone due to their 2.4L engine compared to our 2.0.

I'm saying the 3" no catless/muffler setup should be moderately louder than the stock 2.5" no catless/muffler set up. It will be louder but half an inch isn't going to be anything drastic. (when comparing the two setups I stated). Just trying to give you an idea since you said you have heard the muffler delete/ resonator delete setup before. It would be louder than your current setup as well.

 

i havent heard a catted system with no resonator and muffler delete. i have only heard a muffler delete on 2.5. i guess it would be a little louder on 3
its a cheap mod, and easy to reverse. maybe i will try it out.

Your current setup with a muffler delete will definatly make it louder. Aside from the cat you'll have 3" diameter piping with nothing in the way, no baffles, no restrictions. So its gonna be fairly loud. Like you said, if you dont like it, you can always reverse it without costing an arm and leg.

this is not "loud as hell" eather.... you can cruise on it and bairly hear it.... go catless w/o resonator and muffler... it sounds nice! but with a aftermarket muffler sound more deeper...

 

yea right now its deap. i just want it to b more poppy, without rasp.
i can get before and after vids of my set up and then the muffler delete if anyone wants.
