33k on stock plugs pic

so ive ran the factory plugs for 33k. about 23k of it was while being tuned. how do they look? they dont look too bad to me at all. never gave me issues. altho on the new plugs (i went with oem plugs) the car drives smoother.

most guys say you need to change your plugs every 10-15k when tuned on a ss/tc. i doubled it and the plugs look just fine.

Take a pic from above electrode downward. A top down photo. It's hard to tell at that angle. Make sure you're in good light too.

they are 100k plugs but I mean with a tune its recommend to change them because its running more aggressive than designed to but you really could get running them till you feel like your having an issue i.e. misfires ....etc But I do have another set of stock plugs sitting because I was going to do mine and when I pulled my old ones out they look perfectly fine so I figured I'd wait till I was going to get retuned or something

You don't HAVE to change them... but as you said, the car does drive smoother now. They're just something easy to do and are real cheap, especially for the LSJ. Changing them every oil change or every other oil change isn't going to hurt anything, just like running them longer won't hurt anything.

Depends on the tune though, as well, from what I've seen. Some guys with highly aggressive tunes will start running into misfire trouble if they run them too long.

I ran my stock plugs from new to about 29k miles. That's while being Trifecta tuned from about 3k miles forward. I never had any issues with my plugs, I just changed them for my own peace of mind. I also went with the stock plugs, gapped at .032 out of the box.

anyone who runs plugs for 100k miles has never tried to pull a plug at 100k miles... if they offered a copper plug for the LNF i'd run it and replace every 5k... i'm planning on buying a set of plugs and i just turned 30k miles.

Never had an issue. Normally if they dont come out at 100K, somebody effed up installing them in the first place.

Yeah, it's an NGK plug, resold under the AC Delco name.

Looks good, but when I hit 25k miles, I'm gonna switch to one step colder see what happens.

There are some one step colder NGKs that you might be able to use. In general people have been having trouble with alternate plugs though.

I've never had an issue pulling plugs on GM motors with 100k plus.

I believe the threaded area is nickel plated to resist corrosion nowadays... Plus GMs don't have the carbon buildup issues that cause so many problems on the Ford 3-valves.
