AEM Intake - Improved
AEM Intake - Improved
Took a chance and bought the zzp intake tube.
Removed the aem tube on my intake and replaced it with the larger zzp one.
Not a direct fit.
Bent the top screw holder on the aem metal piece to make it work.
Surging is completely gone.
And my trims are wacked now. Time for a reflash with 24psi and a bit leaner lambda. We will see if she hits 370whp.

I posted my results since some people were thinking of running the zzp tube with the aem metal piece and didn't know if it could work.
It can, it's just a tricky fit.
(50% e85) + (50% e10 94 octane gas we get here in Canada) = ~e47.
My previous dyno 360/410 is posted in the offical dyno list, started by byt.
That 360/410 was on 23psi, as we had issues with my spark plugs which have 35000 miles on them.
It was also on 0.84 lambda I believe.
We will try a leaner lambda and 24psi as I have new plugs.
I also think my revised aem intake can haul a tad more air, we shall see, no promises!
But this dyno I used is not a joke.

I had just gotten into a fantastic argument with the gf, so at that moment when I read your post I was seeing red and went right on the defensive. I thought that you were being a wise guy about e47 not being a real thing or something and were being condescending about it. So my bad..
I however can not promise that I will take you out of my signature.. That I will definitely have to think about some more..

Oh and thanks for PMing me an official warning BPacak. I'll be sure to vote for your promotion to super moderator when it comes around.
haha its all good man but for reals i never heard of e47 we dont have any e10 in cali and e85 is really hard to find at least where i live
and on another note yea i have a zzp intake tube im installing today and using with my k&n dropfin so should work out good

I don't get any fluttering with the vacuum tank hooked up but when I bypass it then it happens. I decided to try the little vacuum hose that comes on the kappas as they don't have the vacuum tank and it seems to have solved the problem! I thought that the silicone hose I was using as a bypass line seemed a bit soft and might be pinching under vacuum and for the time be this fixed it.
