Simply put:
I took one for a test drive. Now of course, hands down, the 2010 MS3 has our car beat in quality, especially interior. The plastics are far superior, the fit and finish is bar none, and the extras (such as the GPS) are really nice.
As far as the rest of the car, there's less rolling tire noise, but I found more suspension "clunks" over bumps (these didn't sound like worn out parts, just loud in general). The steering feels rather heavy, and makes the car feel even heavier (maybe I just like the TC's steering feel, I love it). The acceleration on that car feels almost unusable. In the TC, you feel a linear pull, and a very controllable power. In the MS3, it FEELS faster, but it also feels less in control. Go around a corner at WOT and the tires just let loose (uncontrollably). Full throttle doesn't feel as well executed because the tires spin too freely. The shifter feels like ****, like it's connected to bungee cords. The clutch has NO feel whatsoever. The normal driving power delivery does not feel very smooth.
All in all, I would take my TC over the MS3 anyday. If I could swap the interior of the MS3 and keep every driving aspect of my TC, I'd have the perfect in car in my opinion.
In Canada, the MS3 retails for about 34000 or so (MSRP), the TC retails for about 25,000 (MSRP). Do the math, if you think a better interior is worth an extra 9 grand, go for it. As far as I'm concerned, the TC is still a rocking deal.

Mazda speed 3's suck because they are difficult to tune and there are only a select few people that tune them. Cobb being one of them and IMO Cobb is great if you want to stay in the 13's or high 12's

The MS3's seem to have some weird mechanical issues anyway, maybe they fixed them in 2010? There are a couple here in town that smoke like crazy (blue oil smoke) when they get on it. I'm told this is a common issue with them.
We might leak oil out of 69 places until you fix it, but at least we're not puffing it out the back.
