Here is the story.
Hurst purchase B&M, back a year or two ago
Hurst ever since has been discontinuing the B&M line.
They quit making the B&M for the cobalt. Just the hurst is available now.

The Hurst heritage lasts all the way back to the original GTO when John DeLorean (then a Chief Engineer at GM) was the head of an effort to rebrand the Tempest as the GTO w/ a 389 Ci engine, hurst shifter, HD suspension/clutch, dual exhaust. There is a lot more value to the Hurst name than there is to the B&M name across the entire market.

i have seen and shifted all 3. Installed a B&M and TWM myself.
Heres what i prefer:
1. TWM - pain in the ass to line up the 12345-R, but i believe Hurst is like that as well. Nice solid feeling shifter, shortest of them all. Nice interchangeable knobs, although i cant find one i like. ALot of little install things but you can tell they took there time in makign this shifter, just seems like the overall best.
2. B&M - Slightly shorter throw then stock, but overall more solid feel then stock. Like the look of the shifter itself. Easy to install as the knob just screws and twists on, but its not interchangeable so you get what you get when it comes to that.
3. Hurst - The one i played with was in an SS/SC and it was kinda sloppy feeling. maybe needed some adjustment. Not as short as the others, but I like the look of the Hurst shifter. Its a cool looking shifter
I personally wanna try to ARK shifter as well, but i believe itll fall in the B&M Hurst category. seems like TWM kinda nailed it. But all short throw shifters dont really give a huge difference in throw over stock i feel. i mean i can feel a difference, but lets just say in one of the owners cars i installed the TWM in they said "I dont feel a difference in throw, but it feels smoother i guess." I think because of the reverse lockout the shifter has to travel the same distance left and right, would be cool too file down the reverse lockout and like bolt on an adapter plate or something so that it would shorten the left and right travel as well. Dont get me wrong the TWM owner still had a huge smile see'ing the shifter in there, but its just not as drastic as you might think.

What is wrong with the stock shifter, they ripped up the nuri and other tracks with this shifter, prolly not even breaking the plastic pieces... why do want a new one?
