Best brake & rotor setup?
Well somehow my factory brakes and rotors made it to 30k and now are definitely hitting the fan. Stopping power has definitely reduced and they are squealing horribly. Last time I was at the track it didn't even feel like I was going to stop at the end of the track.
I'm probably going to replace everything with OEM stuff. I do like how they gripped when I got the car and his responsive they were but when they are done they are done. I might get some slotted rotors from zzp or somewhere and then get OEM pads front/rear.
Just wondering what everyone is running for pads and rotors? Let me know what you got and how much your set up was!

I had hawks, I didnt like them. went back to stock, much better. I tracked the car too so I remember the difference. I want to try r1 premium slotted rotors with stock pads, I think that would be pretty sick.

Wert i have stock pads and the cheaper R1 drilled rotors and have been pleased with them, especially when they get wet. Only issue i had with the stockers was stopping in the rain, and the drilled rotors are better. I didnt go premium because i wasnt going to road course it.

Got 125k out of stock rotors and front pads. Had to have powell service and replace rear brake pads @ 60k though. Ordered through CED got good service and parts, went all stock again. MUCH cheaper than through GM Canada.
Stock pads or you can use a designated track pad.
coleman rotors are the best period for up front but they r big bucks. I'm going to play with r1 concepts premium rears but the stocks worked fine with me for track cars.

If you are going to track it ( aside from drags) i would go with the premiums due to them being able to take more abuse. Just my 2 cents
I am going to run stock pads on some R1 premium slotted and drilled. I had all four on my last SS and they were amazing.
I don't track or auto x my car so I've never worried about cracks.

slotted and drilled rotors are no good imho UNLESS they are some extremely high dollar ones that are made properly. slotted can be no good to if made improperly.
for me slotted only is the way to go or just get blanks. drilled rotors I find crack easier especially under stress and drilled and slotted is too much material missing out of the rotor for me. wangspeed runs centric blanks and has had good success with them.
so my 2 cents is buy the centrics if they are cheaper then oem(you can get them from tire rack). get oem pads unless you want a street pad then get hawks or parts store brake pads. for winter I run some cheapo autozone pads and they stand up pretty good to daily driver and they are like 50 bucks. colemans are a 900 dollar investment for the fronts alone plus pads. I always run ferrodos up front as my car sees double duty and stock out back.

Ya I'm definitely not going to run drilled and slotted. Omiotek, what's your opinion of running R1 premium slotted rotors all around with OEM pads?
Everything OEM from rock auto comes to $430 shipped. To get R1 Premium slotted rotors for the front and rear with centric rear pads and OEM ferrodo pads for the front comes to $560 shipped.
