Best Clutch for SS/TC?

I'm sure its been said before, but I'd like to ask again. What is the best clutch for our cars when you still want street drivability and have over 300whp?

Also flywheel?

and do we need the adjustable clutch rod or not?

I would guess around or over 350 torque...

No one to my knowledge, who has this kit, has put enough power down to slip it...

Doesnt almost everyone who has bolt ons and a tune make around 350wtq or more? If so that clutch wouldnt be worth a damn.

Again we are not sure on the specific trq rating... It is most likely higher than 350, we are just not sure how much...

With that stated:

No one to my knowledge, who has this exedy hyper single kit, has put enough power down to slip it... It is a very GOOD clutch kit.

I have Exedy and you'll love it once you get used to how heavy it is.

Ask 06black what kind of clutch he has on his car. I am not sure but I thought it was an exedy hypersingle.

Your tires will give up traction before you slip that clutch.

how does it affect the car as a DD? I wouldnt want to have a car that is only good under high throttle. Especially a front wheel drive car. It even says on the web site that the street ability is affected a bit.

I installed thehyper single in my son's SS/SC which is a DD. He was drag racing quite a bit. The Exedy is probably the best clutch manufacturer. The quality is top notch. I believe the clutch was rated at 400 hp. Believe me, you can't abuse this clutch.......it just hooks up and doesn't mind the heat what-so-ever. No other clutch comes close. Just be prepared for a little more pedal effort.

My Spec 3+ "works" but looking back I might've gone with the Exedy. Was out of my toy budget at the time and I just needed something ASAP.

From what I have heard, it gives a better feel than stock TC clutch.

And Ill help ya out with the numbers Aaron. According to Exedy, it handles two times the torque of the stock clutch. Granted that is their generic rating, but that would put it around 500wtq. Also, seeing that it is comparable to stage3+, it should be higher than 350wtq

clutchmasters stage 4 worked good for me. Never slipped. The tranny however happened to fail. Also the clutch pedal was very light. By far the lightest clutch I ever had but the engagement was like an on off switch. No real room to slip it. Everyone who has ever driven my car has stalled it. Even ppl with 30 plus years stick exp. That said though you do get used to it so much so that a stock clutch will feel awkward.
