One last question. Got my k&n intake just now. My stage 1 kit will be here tomorrow. Is it best to do em individualy or same time?? I know GMS1 "disables learn down feature". So would you do that first and then intake? Or does it not matter?

add the intake have them tune it for it on , just make sure u take it to a dealer that is aftermarket part friendly otherwise they might give u $hit for it and not tune u for it

Can't wait to get my intake on and get tuned for it. I know you can hear the turbo more with an intake, but can you hear the BPV (sneeze) more too?

going from a stock intake with GMS1 you can just barely hear the panda sneeze. with a K&N with GMS1 or i guess any tune at that matter you can hear the BPV 100% better

I hope you didn't put the K&N on it before you took it in. Its just one more thing for them to hassle you about and no they can't tune you for it. The stage 1 tune is a one size fits all, they just load it on so it doesn't/can't change for your existing mods. Put it on after.

I really wish somebody had a baseline Dyno, then a Dyno with GMS1, then a Dyno with GMS1 plus the K&N. I'd even love for there to be a Turbo XS Dyno after that so I can see what I'm going to get from this $1,200...

Yea, and I don't wanna do GMS1, K&N and DP all at once for the same reasons. I want to be able to at least feel the upgrade a little and be able to compare it. Doing all those mods same day would be awesome, but would take away from that. That's why I want to see a Dyno chart.

The K&N intake will skew the fuel trims on GM's stage tuning .... hell ,even the K&N drop in filter throws it off . Sometimes you can get lucky and turn the intake filter to dial in the trims a little closer but i wouldn't count on it being spot on.
ZZP's advice is the way to go if you have to stick with GM's tune.

Well here are some pics after the install. I must say normal driving and boosting sound CRAZY good. I felt like I was driving a spaceship in 5th grear just cruising on the freeway. Sounds like your shutting down a spaceship or something lol .
bottom line is I love this thing!!!![Twothumbsup](https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/images/smilies/twothumbsup.gif)

5 gear WOT is a clutch killer.
It wakes the turbo up so much vs. Stock intake.
When my GF. Is riding with me she makes the wooosh sound after my car does lol

Make sure you turn the filter, so at the end of the cone filter the engraved 'K&N' is upside down. It wont skew fuel trims up as bad or atleast thats what ive read lol

See below quote 8).
Very true ..... low RPM high gear WOT is tough on these cars cause the LNF makes peak TQ in the 2K rpm range
Again true ...... The K&N filter isn't perfectly round , it's almost like egg shaped . By turning the bulge in the filter you can manipulate the fuel trims to a certain degree . I tested mine out before my tuned was tweaked for it and I gain 2-3 % points to the good by doing it .
I will have to look for the thread where someone did a how to and showed the best position the car liked the filter in . It helps to have a dashhawk or RPD to access the LTFT (long term fuel trim) readings .
Edit: Actually there is a metal seam in the filter that holds it together ..... position that at 12 0'clock (actually people say 12:30 ) and it's supposed to help fuel trims for cars with canned tunes.
