I'm about an hour away from Byron soo getting to the track is not an issue! But I really don't want to waste money just to get a baseline down! I mean yeah it would be nice but I'd like to toss on a part first.

This pass was done with hardly any mods. We had dp, tune, ZZP air box mod and aem sil. intake tube, spring blockers and maybe are catback but I can't remember.

(street tires)

Then we switched to slicks!

12's should be no prob for you, good luck.

that is def very true. I ran a 13.7@104 2.2 60ft stock. After tune, catback, dp, airbox mod. I am running 13.7@110 that is with a 2.1 60ft. I havent went back to the track since. Kind of pissed about that.

My best time stock was a 13.9820 w/a 2.160 for 60ft time @103.74.
Nice to know the 17" SS wheels will work w/slicks, was wondering about that but didn't wanna ask on here for fear of getting bashed on lol.

Well I wasn't going for the best times just kinda working on my launch. The track was only an 1/8th mile. I started with no rev and worked my way up by 500rpm increments up to 2500rpm. I was only able to do 6 passed before I had to leave, and the hoosiers didn't even flinch through 1st and 2nd. I was uneasy on how the tranny and clutch would take the heavy traction so I opted not to NLS and go for the granny shift but I have no doubt it will take it now. My best run was an 8.8 missing 3rd. Due to the 10 psi in 1st my 60' times were around 2.2 but that since has been changed 20 psi and I added a downpipe.

Yea, I just wanted to make sure the drive train would hold and that's why I was working my way up slow. I feel more confident now. To also add to the track visit is that it was also 105 degrees outside performance was not at its best.

if you are talking an lnf cobalt with ONLY an exhaust and the rest 100% stock, you sir are a liar.

edit : i see in a later post you said you did have a tune. in that case, sorry to be so harsh. when you say the car had an exhaust,
did that also include a downpipe?

don't forget the weight reduction. remove passenger seats, carpets, spare tire, etc... there was a forum about that in the how to something.

i think with slicks/ DRs and a GOOD tune you should get to high 12s... with mods including exhaust downpipe, charge pipes, K&N drop in filter, striped down, and a tune you should be on mid to low 12.... (WITH DRIVER MOD & SLICKS!!!!)

mine wouldn't. i really think you should run YOURS first. then you'll know. you may get
13's bone stock. or you may run a best of 14.4. don't know till you try. plus it will get you some seat time at the track in the car.

Yeah I went w/ going to the track w/it since the car was stock. Had fun no matter what time I ran, you usually meet some cool people at the local track. Just my opinion..............................

The main thing is convincing the wife thAt it's worthy of a pass down the track... She is worried about it breaking all the time! Not to mention she doesn't want to feel embarresed if her car can't break at least a
13.5! We both pay for the car but it's still her baby at the end of the day! I'm alright at launching and feel really confident with the NLS but still concerned with 1st to 2nd shifts when under WOT?
