Does anyone here run aftermarket headers/manifolds with the stock turbo? Is getting any of those going to even increase our hp/torque? Because I know that you'll need to upgrade those if you go bigger turbo but what if your only stock turbo and you run those? Will they make any difference? Or is E47 pretty much the only next step after you get your basic bolt-ons? (eg. Tune, CAI intake, 3 inch exhaust system, FMIC and both charge pipes)

An after market manifold for stock turbo is pointless on a LNF. Most after market turbos available for the LNF can still utilize the stock manifold. Best bang for your buck is bolt-ons E47.

If you're gonna go through the process of removing the exhaust manifold to put another one on mise well bolt a new turbo on. I'm saying this cause I honestly don't think I've seen a Mani that bolts up to the k04 for our cars and it is also quite time consuming to removing everything to even get the Mani off. Just to me it wouldn't make sense. You don't need a new year exhaust manifold if you get a turbo that's direct bolt up.

Like I've stated before. Try E or an E blend and if you want more go bigger turbo.

I've been running an e blend for a solid 3 years or so now and still running strong with no issues to be seen. If you're power goals are what you stated in your op, then e47 should get you pretty much there. I made 350whp with the k04 on e47 with bolt ons and 420whp with the zfr running the same boost level as my k04 on an e35 blend.

Point is, as long as the engine is healthy, you have the correct injector seals and a good tuner, there are no real bad side effects to running an e blend.

This is going to sound dumb but what about an aftermarket header then?

Anyone here running with nitrous? Any issues there?

Yes, very dumb. The LNF uses a turbo manifold not a header. A header is something you will find on n/a and supercharged vehicles.

A couple people run nitrous but not many on the LNF. Seems to be a challenge to tune.

Oh, I see... Thanks for being so nice and helpful! So I guess nitrous is sort of out of the question then. LOL Now I see why everyone is pointing towards E or bigger turbo. LOL LALALALALAL

I agree with going E47/E85 first. It makes quite the difference and will make you love your car all over again. When you get used to/bored of that, it's time for a bigger turbo. Before my ZFR upgrade, I made the numbers in my sig with full bolt ons and Terminator E85 tune. Haven't dyno'd yet on my new setup (ZFR/e47)

Don't you need fueling mods if you use E85? Or it's only if you use E85 with a bigger turbo?

Need to drop airflow and make sure your injector seals are correct.

Question: sorry to be a little off topic, but I was wondering, if I run all the fueling mods such as 5th injector, cams with fuel lobe, oversized valves and in-tank hpfp, up to how much power can I go with the 93 octane fuel?

At that point I would just make the switch to full e85 if you are doing all the fueling mods. Depending on turbo selection and tuning maybe 425+, but that might be pushing it on stock motor with 93.

I got away without fueling mods on full E85 on the stock turbo because of my altitude (~6,000 feet). With the ZFR I had to switch to e47. Still no fueling mods although I am planning them now.

I'm leaning now to just going with a e blend. My other question is where can I buy stronger couplers? My current coupler that connects the hot charge pipe to the intercooler keeps popping off at 5-10 psi. I planning on ordering t bolt clamps on ebay.

I want some couplers like these on this thread:

Zzp sells couplers, modern performance, turboxs to name a few. Turboxs is in Gaithersburg, md so you could go straight to them and tell them exactly what you need.

Silicone intakes.com, bought my t clamps and couplers from there for my Injen charge pipes, saved like 25 bucks with the difference in the couplers and shipping from modern performance

Siliconeintakes.com sells some really good stuff once you factor in the price.

Tell me about it. That's the reason why I just went with a bigger turbo.

E85 isn't readily available here either, so bigger turbo is my only option also
