Why on Earth would anyone spend $226,000 to make a Cobalt rwd?

Better question: how would someone retarded enough to spend $226k on a Cobalt get $226k to spend on a Cobalt?

Makes some sense now. It is an all out drag car. I thought it was a daily street driven machine.

Yeah 220k makes much more sense when you realize its going to be putting down close to/over 1,500 HP... lol.

I remember reading all 100+ pages of his build thread.

Does anyone have pictures/measurements of the undercarrage of a sky/solstice? IIRC the wheelbase is almost exactly the same.

This is where the old saying, "If you have to ask, you can't afford it" is absolutely 100% true.

I'm fairly certain although the cash up tag for vic's car is 226K, a lot of the work/parts has come from sponsrships, I could be wrong though.

To the OP, anything is possible with the right amount of time/money

Or you could have picked up the phone, called Roush Racing paid $72,000 dollars for a 100% TURN KEY Race Engine making 1400 HP with everything needed minus a transmission. Turn key meaning even a standalone computer with full wire harness, turbo, manifold, injectors, and a race tune. Heck, I think they even included the OIL for the engine with it for that price

It's a sweet mod in Forza 2 that's for sure!! Don't know about "real
world" possibilities though...probably easier and cheaper to just buy a solstice/sky.

Yes the amount of money I have spent is insane and yes it has all been out of pocket.

Sadly I trusted companies to do what they promised for what they said it would cost.

I would never have done this had I know the true price tag before I started.

If you ever go to do something crazy, you could just as easy find yourself at a point of no return where stopping means losing everything you have already spent.

For those of you that think I am retarded, that is easy to say when you are a world away.

As for doing the swap with the Sky/Soltice, that would be about $20K as already mentioned and really why?, when buying a Sky/Soltice in the first palce would still give the same result.

PS

Certain shops are no longer part of this project for certain reasons, part of which are the costs to date.
